That's exactly what I am trying to understand. Based on the announcement, it gives the impression that this version will be available as a SRD for the BRP.
So in the ORC license, the items designated under ‘Product Identity’ are the elements that CAN’T be used? Just want to make sure.

HI @MOB, sorry for tagging you, but I had some small questions:
Will this be a "free" PDF or not?
I am asking because based on the announcement, this sound like a new SRD for the BRP, which would mean that authors could use that to write their own RPG.
Not that I believe it would be a problem to pay a little to get that, but just trying to understand how that will be done.
Besides it, is there any information about the ORC license itself? I tried to find and this seems to be the first announcement using the ORC license itself. So, quite curious to have a look on it.
The CEO already stated that will not be a free pdf update, it’s a new edition of the game rules (he even used the example of CoC 6th/7th).

What’s ironic is that the BRP system built it’s reputation on settings that have no Orcs.
“BRP - Now with more ORC”? 😜

Given that the BGB was just on sale for a $1 at DTRPG I wouldn’t expect to get the new book as an update.
Curious to know what the specifics will be for the pdf to physical book discount. Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t pdf files included with the purchase of a physical book on Chaosium’s site?
This makes me think the price for the pdf in April won’t be “full price” of a book.
The pdf won’t be the full price of the book, but if you buy the pdf now at the pdf price that amount is taken off the price of the physical book when it’s released so that in the end, you pay standard price for the physical book and received the pdf effectively “free”. Just in two installments, and without having to wait for the info in digital form.

And I hope YouTube personalities cover this well and get the word out and drive up the popularity of this system. This should be the premier game system!

OMG! So awesome! I expect the things outlined as off limits in the old OGL (Sanity, certain things from RQG, etc.) will still not be included, but still, I cannot wait! I hope the innovative chase rules from CoC7 are added…

I see I’m dabbling in a bit of necromancy here, but I’m confused. Can the BGB (the rules portions) not be used as the SRD? If not, which parts can/cannot? The SRD is missing a LOT of the necessary systems.
Or is this all moot since they are joining ORC? Chaosium *is* still joining ORC I hope?

I hope they do a slipcase set for the Gaslight books!
and will the Miskatonic Valley books be hardcover? I hope so…

Hello,
Still working on my RQG for Foundry system and running my 2 campaigns on it.
For now I only have "permission" for private use and cannot share it.
Any word on this? Any word from Chaosium on approval or acceptance?

Yes, please! Get Chaosium-approved support for RQG and CoC on Foundry!

Both, but I’ve also got a serious case of Pokémon Syndrome (“gotta collect them all”). 😁

I don’t think normally Chaosium has a ‘product pipeline’ list like Mongoose does. At least I haven’t found one.
I just started getting into RuneQuest with the new edition and I’m aware they have a very many of the old supplements available as POD. However, I REALLY don’t want to buy a bunch of the old supplements only to find that new versions are soon to be released.
anyone have any info on upcoming titles?
-
Any word on the PDF yet? I sent them an email, but haven't received a reply yet (of course).

Looking for a group in Orange County. Would like to play 7th when it comes out, but any is fine.

The latest unveil is a large clockwork dragon! Cool looking!
-
Just unveiled...Lovecraftian horrors and space marines...
-
For those not keeping up...the crypt was just revealed. 11 (yeah, 11) Chronoscope miniatures added to Vampire, as well as a Little Death for free, AS WELL AS the Colossal Skeletal Giant for $10 (!!!). I don't want to sound like a used car salesman, but this is really getting insane!
-
The translucent haunts have been achieved, as has two massive demons for an additional $15 (for both!). Next is a free group of six heroes, then another huge (nearly 12" tall) dragon for $10(!!!). Sometime today we should also see what the crypt holds...
So now we are at something like 117 miniatures for $100, plus a horde of insanely cheap options.
-
The next stretch goal ha been revealed! 5 translucent green spirit figs to be added free to Vampire level and above!
-
Update: they're up to 106 figures for Vampire and above pledges, including translucent elementals and fire effects - included!
This doesn't even take into account the extras available, including a dragon with a 12" wingspan for $10, and they've added another pair of dragons for $15 as the next stretch goal.
CoC/BRP Life-path system?
in Basic Roleplaying
Posted
Has anyone tried creating a Traveller-like Life-path system for CoC or BRP (or is there one published that I’m either forgetting or not aware of)?
