An Unofficial Buyer's Guide to RuneQuest and Glorantha: Updated 7 April 2024

Recommended Posts

I'm delighted to announce that An Unofficial Buyer's Guide to RuneQuest and Glorantha is now available.
I'm indebted to the mighty Kristi Herbert for the cover art, which is well worth studying in detail to see what secrets the book might contain (or that we just dreamed up). Also many thanks to the Chaosium team for making this possible at all, and to my mini-legion of Lhankor Mhy fact wranglers for their input.
Let the battle for the merch begin!
Have you ever been surprised to discover a product you can buy for RuneQuest or Glorantha that you hadn't previously even known existed? Did you know that you can still get brand-new copies of that Gloranthan fanzine that quit publishing 15 years ago? Have you ever bought a RuneQuest book and then been annoyed to discover it was half the price on a different website?
Have you ever asked ... which Gloranthan fiction is still available to buy right now? How many Gloranthan boardgames are for sale today? How many languages is RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha available in, and what are they? Where can you buy a Seven Mothers apron? Does anyone make a Gloranthan dragon snail miniature? Which artists are selling prints of their Gloranthan art? Where can I find alternatives to the standard RQG character sheet?
If so ... then this Unofficial Buyer's Guide is probably for you.
This guide aims to list and describe everything that is currently available to buy, or that you can get for free. I'm pretty sure that most fans will find a few surprises inside!
My intention is for the Buyer's Guide to have very little overlap with Rick Meints' Meints Index to Glorantha, a much more comprehensive survey. It also doesn't conflict with Nick Brooke's excellent Jonstown Compendium Catalogue. If you want to read about the Jonstown Compendium's many marvels of community content - look there.
Here is some of what is described across the sixty pages of this Unofficial Guide:
Art • Badges • Bags • Boardgames • Character sheets • Classic reprints • Clothing • Coins • Comics • Computer games • Cults • Dice • Dice trays • Discounts • Drinkware • Fiction • Free stuff • Game aids • Histories • Homeware • Indexes • International editions • Magazines • Merchandise • Miniatures • Music • Online resources • RPGs • Rules • Scenarios • Stickers • Tokens
If this Guide proves popular, I plan to update it on an irregular basis at least until the end of 2024, so please check back here in your DTRPG library for any new version. And as always: if you like it ... please rate it and review it!

An Unofficial Buyer's Guide to RuneQuest and Glorantha lists everything currently available for the game and setting, across 60 pages. "Lavishly illustrated throughout, festooned with hyperlinks" - Nick Brooke. The Voralans presents Glorantha's magical mushroom humanoids, the black elves. "A wonderful blend of researched detail and Glorantha crazy" - Austin Conrad. The Children of Hykim documents Glorantha's shape-changing totemic animal people, the Hsunchen. So ... if you are a creator of RuneQuest and/or Gloranthan product and you want to share more detail with me about your stuff, or correct any mistakes - buy the book, check what's there, and please get in touch on the email address included in the book. I hope to update the book irregularly, and will be checking that email for notifications - not Facebook or anywhere else. Thanks!

And also take note: SPECIAL OFFERS! For a limited period and in limited numbers only, I'm providing exclusive discount codes to purchasers of this book: $2.49 off each of my other two books, The Children of Hykim, and The Voralans. I think that's pretty great value: if you use just one of those discount codes, you've essentially got this $2.49 buyer's guide for free. And if you use both: you're quids in, as they say round my way. You'll find the discount codes in a separate file alongside the book in the DTRPG library.
