  1. How come when I read the words “very very soon” I immediately think that means very very soon AFTER Chaosium Con in Australia. I hope I’m wrong.
  2. Thank you Rick and I’m sorry to be a pain. I only got frustrated when all the previous queries and comments were being trimmed out of the discussion. I know it’s not Chaosium’s intent to disregard questions but having that trimming seemed to exacerbate the issue as opposed to just answering which you did. My apologies for any frustrations I have caused you and your staff and I am excited to get all the books when they do come out and appreciate the spirit that giving release windows was to try to give us excitement and something to look forward to but due to things out of Chaosiums control can blow up and have the opposite effect. And I totally understand why there will not be anymore release window announcements. Cheers
  3. Ok. I’d like to ask outright now and I ask with respect: I’m not trying to troll. i want the Glorantha Sourcebook 2.0 I also want the Lunar book and all the Pendragon books. The Lunar book was announced for March and missed it. The Pendragom books are announced for this month. My conundrum is that I don’t want to place multiple orders and pay multiple shipping charges. I Want to if at all humanly possible place one order or worse case two orders. thus far asking about the Lunar book has gotten at most a vague “soon” answer with much speculation. I ask with respect and I’m not expecting a laser precise answer. are we on track for April for the Pendragon books? If not ballpark when. Weeks? Months? The Lunar book? Weeks? Months? I want to know so that if the wait is long then I can fee free to order the GAB 2.0 right now. Or if the wait is weeks for those other books, I’ll wait and place one order. I’m not asking for a precise date. And Chaosium doesn’t owe me anything but I do think (because these books were officially announced with release windows) that more clarity is in order and it’s a perfectly reasonable thing for me or anyone to not only ask but to expect an answer. i don’t appreciate my posts being “trimmed”. There has been no answers and i think other and myself asking is reasonable. And it’s poor customer service to ignore or remove these posts instead of addressing it head on. These are not troublemaking posts. This is people wanting answers so we can buy your products. If you trim my current post then that is fine and that will be my answer and I’ll go way. but it’s poor customer service in my opinion.
  4. As far as book availability as a general topic,I’ve given this a lot of thought and delved into other forums exploring this topic and see that Rick made an extensive post about what Chaosium tried in the past, what the results were from a business standpoint, what they are trying now and also stating that depending on how things go, what future policies might be on availability. My opinions of course are always going to be colored by self interest and wanting the books asap…(I think Freeleague has spoiled me since they give pdf’s out months before a book releases)but here it goes. 🙂 I think what’s needed is a middle ground. In the past people had the ability to buy a pdf and then get a discount on a physical book when it releases or get a physical book and get a free PDF. This caused problems. I’d say go to Rick’s post for a better description then I could give. the new policy is to only offer the books when they are available everywhere. No pre-orders. Ok that solves some problems but creates new ones. i propose a middle ground pre-order strategy. offer preorders but ONLY for BOTH the physical book and the PDF. Not one or the other. Then immediately give access to the PDF. No sales are lost. You have your orders locked in. No cancellations of pre-orders allowed. (My stance is if someone really really wants that content before the release date they should take the hit and be locked in or wait.) Then only AFTER the book is released offer options for people to buy the PDF by itself or the physical book and PDF together. I know this would affect pricing so there is a consequence because you no longer are doing a free pdf model when you bundle them together this way. this middle ground would allow people to have access to the books even when we have boats taking four month trips. Everybody is happy. I probably am vastly over-simplifying all of this and missed a whole slew of complications and factors and hopefully Chaosium isn’t insulted or annoyed by my feedback. Ultimately we all want the company we love to succeed and to be able to enjoy all of their wonderful content for years to come so I will always support them in how they go about this but with a little grumbling…out of love. 🙂 Looking forward to - all the Pendragon Books, G Sourcebook 2.0 and of course The Lunar Way!
  5. Thanks so much for all the amazing feedback! @Brian DuguidThank you! I did in fact mean KING of Sardar through my mistake apparently revealed the PRINCE of Sartar comic which I didn't know existed. I'll check that out too. @Jeff Thank you. I'll go for this reading order. As the writer, you can probably confirm...but reading some of the Cults books so far the perspective of the voice of the author in the works...was it a scholar from the 4th Age? One of the things I love about King of Sartar is how Greg Stafford put the book through the lens of a future age after all the events had transpired...and additionally the unreliable narrator element that they were translating lore sources from long ago. For me that hit pretty well because that style of writingi reminded me of book 4 in the Dune series God Emperor of Dune which is my favorite in the series and I think the BEST (usually I'm in the minority on this among Dune fans). Frank Herbert communicated a lot of the lore from 1500 years after the events of Dune and through Scholars that found old sources of information. Not to derail and make this a Dune conversation but just mentioning because that is one of the things that make me fascinated with King of Sartar. So the Cults books seem to lightly be dipping into the future perspective as well. Are they intended to be written from the 4th age perspective? So from the many great comments I'm going to go with - Source Book - Cults Mythology - The actual Cults - Prince of Sartar Comic and the Guide for supplementary. I think for the Sourcebook I'm going to wait until the 2nd edition. the current edition does feel very jam packed and I'm told the new edition will have a completely re-imagined layout and breath a lot more then the 1st. Good call re-designing it. It's arguably the most important supplemental and needs to be as accessible as possible.
  6. So at this point in my RuneQuest RPG Journey I own several different lore sources for the world of Glorantha and dip into each one of them for points of interest. The Sourcebook. The Guide, Prince of Sartar and now the Cults of Runequest series. Love to get people's opinions on this point: If one wanted to get a full well rounded knowledge of the world of Glorantha and it's history what is your preferred reading order if you were to go book by book completing each instead of how I currently go about it just going back and forth taking bits and pieces? There of course is overlap amongst all the books. I never feel like I have complete knowledge which actually might be a good thing since the quest to know drives me to come back over and over again. but I would like to be more organized in my approach and get a reading order and stick to it.
