What info is there out there about Department M?
I first heard anything about it at the end of Mythras Matters episode 2.

What do we know about this entry at DriveThru?
Quote2189 AD. Investigators are sent to Benedict’s Rest, a former penal colony on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan. The facility is now a mine and refinery for methane, but productions has dropped 19% and the colony’s chief medical officer was found dead under suspicious circumstances. The board of directors dispatches a team to look into the incident, but what they find is horror 1,275,000,000 miles from Earth.

Characters are going to be humans in RuneQuest, correct? Doesn't look like any of the characters in the Quickstart are any other variety of race.
Thanks. Newish to RuneQuest. Looking at getting the new books. I do have the Avalon Hill box set where they do talk about making characters out of many of the species in the Creatures Book (4).
Does the new Bestiary serve in the same way?

That was cool. Thank you for sharing. I've never watched this show before.
The reference is at around 2:25.

Coincidentally, I'm preparing to run a campaign using the fan-written Blake's 7 RPG,

Is there an idea of when to expect BRP Essentials? I know they're saying RuneQuest for GenCon, but I hope Essentials drops before that.

I'm rather fond of Stephen Daniele's art.

He did the cover art for Hollow Earth Expedition as well as much of the interior art. Classy style.

BRP Mecha seems to be unavailable now. Even PDF. Is that correct?Disregard. I found the answer.

Not D&D 5E!
I read somewhere that there were Advantages and Disadvantages in the Superworld rules. I'm curious what those were like and surprised they were not featured as an option in the BGB. Can anyone share to how those were portrayed?

I better register!

For years my roommate and I used to break up laughing thinking about that scene. We even used the line during RPG sessions. We once got an entire gaming group who hadn't seen Nassuica laughing when we saw a really powerful reoccurring NPC show up and used the line on a new player. As the rest of the group had seen the NPC in action, they broke out laughing immediately.
Such a great movie and even better comic!

The BareBones stuff has a very generalist take on skills. In that sense it isn't compatible. I found Covert Ops to be probably pretty compatible with Top Secret/S.I. than any of our BRP stuff.

I liked the Dragon Lady in Terry and the Pirates.

I have an Aces High question. I hope this is not in bad form to ask, but this is one of the nicest Monographs I've read. Granted, I've only seen a few. What software was used in the creation of Aces High?

It's not too popular.
Oh well.

BGB p. 277 for more about Armor Points if it helps.

Here is a review of the playtest files for the upcoming Covert Ops RPG. I did this on behalf of Modus Operandi.

Can you please link to the specific post to save us all having to trawl through the RPGsite?
I'm trying to find it, too. It was most likely a thread about Magic World.
*EDIT
Found it.
from zomben (on that forum):
Quote:
The subhead for the BGB is "Adventure Roleplaying in Different Worlds" (or something; don't have it to hand).
"X-Worlds" is going to be something you'll be seeing more of in the future.

A handfull of rules tweaks, and all the stuff from Elric! and a bunch of bits from RQIII all shuffled together. It also gives you a way to get all your players a copy of the rules without scouring used game and auction sites for the old books.
I'm going to be totally honest, if you already own all that stuff, you probably don't need Magic World. But, I sure would appreciate it if you bought a copy.

Today I read in some post on theRPGSite.com (I know!) that there will be more X Worlds coming. I took this to mean more expansions like Magic World, probably Future World and Superworld. Hopefully more beyond Worlds of Wonder, etc. I've only seen that one reference. Is there more substance to this notion?

I don't yet have Magic World (emphasis on yet). But I do have In Search of the Trollslayer. I was wondering if that adventure was written- the pregenerated characters, magic items, creatures, etc. if they were written with a compatibility with Magic World. Are the same BGB options turned on in both products, so to speak?

Reading through this thread, it doesn't seem to be explicitly said, but it sure feels like there's a BRP update coming. Is this clear and I'm slow? or is this wishful thinking?
