  1. If you're looking for material to convert (or just inspire) take a look at Goblinoid Games' Starships & Spacemen 2nd ed. This new version of a 1978 game ports the messier original rules to "old-school" d20, so it's easier to translate into BRP.

S&S2 also allocates gear using rank and department, and contains subsystems for exploring strange new worlds and shooting Kling-, I mean Zangids out of the sky. If nothing else, check out the Random Bumpy Forehead table.

Wow. I've never seen that game before... either of them.
  2. Another possibility, if a bit hard-to-find, would be the *original* BRP/Worlds of Wonder "Magic World" fantasy supplement. It sort-of has classes, but is gorgeously simple: 18 pages, including monsters & scenario (but requires a few pages from the old BRP "Intro to Roleplaying" too). A gem - absolutely perfect for fantasy-fan D100 newbies.

It's not too hard to find. Its been sitting on this site with no problem for years...

  3. I'm looking for rules or options for Extended Actions. The best I could find was in the Quick Start PDF under Extended Research. It touches on how the GM can require multiple successes (pg. 23). I'm looking for more extensive guidelines on this, where a complex task may require lets say three or more rolls. Where can I find this?

  4. Well, looking at my copy of Worlds Beyond .... I do not understand the hype. It uses "a kind of" the BRP system, and the starship creation rules are very generic. To be honest, they do nothing that a good starship combat game could not do. Go and buy "Starmarda", "Warcosm" or "Full Thrust" for a good set of space combat rules. And these systems come with starship creation rules as well. Trust me, you won't feel a difference.

It's not worth 50$ IMHO. More like 10-15 bucks.

BTW: the "HARP SF XTREME" rules seem to be good for RPG space combat and vehicle creation. Not sure about the price tag though.

I will stick to my minis rules ;)

I agree with you about Worlds Beyond. Kind of a meh product. I somehow picked up a copy a while ago. Let me ask you a strange question about your copy... does it have a distinct oder to it? Mine has an almost burnt smell, but not quite. I suspect it's some kind of binding glue or powerful smell from whatever ink was used. Anyway, it's kind of strange.
