  1. I think it is not a secret. When I was at the Kraken (Germany), I had a talk with one of the author. They are very busy with it. Beautiful map, lots of NPC, plots, history, ...

Don't ask me for a date (I didn't) but is is well in progress.

  2. I also like the idea of Pamaltela was evolving backwards. But I think it is backwards 'from an Earth point of view', meaning that there is more and more prehistorical life forms (and also dinosaures). Because from a Gloranthan perspective, there is no 'history' or 'Carboniferous age'. There is no 'evolution', just Myth.

But if what Jeff says is true (Dinosaures comes also from Dragonewts in Pamaltela), it means that we could find ruins of dragonewts if we look well enough. Did the Artmali (tried to) erase all signs and myth of the Dragonewts in Pamaltela? And why?

  3. I know that YRQMV (and mine vary already as I don't like to tell my player that there is nothing they can do for many seasons.... Anyway, they will do things anyway as my campagn is a big sandbox with many possible plots...)

But I wonder about the training rule : 1 season (56 days!!!) in order to gain 2%??? 10% for a whole year training?

I remember that during my RQ3 campaign, there was a rule proposed by (I don't remember who and where) that you need your skill percentage in hour to gain. Fir instance, 25 hour to gain 2% if you have 25%. I like this idea (and maybe put us back in my game) as you improve fast for low level skills and slower as you get better.

  4. 1 minute ago, Pheres said:

I have no answer based on rules, but in Glorantha, all things can be linked to a kind of spirit, so perhaps we can say that a spirit can pass through walls, or other things, but if the wall is linked to a spirit, the both have to fight if the first one want to pass through.

Then a spirit attacking a human must defeat the human 'spirit' before going into it... it make sens. But the spirit can easily 'surround' the victim while attacking it (as it has no precise shape)

I like the idea so far

  5. In another topic, Joerg described how he played spirit attacks : the spirit is totally enveloping the target (making it very difficult to be hit by physical weapon)

It make me think : can spirits pass through walls, ceiling, floor? Can it pass through living object? When it is visible? Can it do what Joerg said? I didn't see anywhere a description of how spirits moves.

  6. Sorry if this was already discussed somewhere (I try to search but I didn't find what I was looking for)

If I read it well, the ENC if (STR + CON) /2 (but not more than STR). meaning that for a normal PC it could be around 14

If this PC wants to wear a chain mail (ENC 4), it is 4x7=28 ENC (without any weapon, shield and backpack). For each ENC above the ENC of the character, MOV is decreased by 1. Meaning than this PC cannot move.

Have I missed something? The minus 14% on some skill, I can easily understand, but the -1 MOV / ENC, I don't get it

  7. As we are a little off topic anyway...

Annilia (Blue Moon) is the keeper of secrets as is Asrelia. Or is Annilia keeper of 'knowledge' secrets and Asrelia of 'wealth' secrets?

is there a connection between these 2 goddesses (Myth)?

  8. In the GoG, it is not very clear what is the cycle of the Blue Moon (or what is left of it). But as it has impact to the tides, I'd like to understand.

    In the Guide

    Quote

It climbs along the upper Sky Dome in an apparently random pattern. It only rises when the constellation Lorion is directly in the east. It takes between one and six days to climb to the center of the sky, from whence it plummets rapidly from the Pole Star down through Magasta’s Pool

It seems that the tides are not cyclic : 1-6 days, sudden drop,...

  9. When I read the RQG, character creation, I understand that you can start with x rune point and the sane x rune spells. I understood that a 2 points rune spell counted as 2.

But in the latest scenario (the free one) that the characters have 3 rune points and 3 spells (some of them being 2 or even 3 points rune spells).

Then, when a character gain a rune point, can he choose any spell (whatever the number of point the spell has)?

  10. As there is no Western/Malkionism book yet, I try to make up my mind on how it works with Malkionists. I'm playing in Umathela where they are numerous....

I imagined (YGMV) that the dronars are not learning any sorcery (not meant to do it). But at crucial moment of their life (initiation, marriage, ...), the Priest/Zzaburi give then access to some spirit magic spell in order to help them in their live (farming, healing the children, ...). Hence then summon spirits with these spells and give them to the believers.

For them, spirits (and then spirit magic they provide) is just a tool, like a hammer or a plow.

In RQG, for malkionism, it is said that the first rune they have to master is Spirit. To protect the people against them but maybe to control them and make them useful.

It seems logical, but I needed to understand rulewise how the Zzaburi could do it.

    Thanks for your answer
