  1. I do not understand the difference between the Rune spell of Binding Enchantment, and the spirit magic spell Binding Enchantment. In fact, for some reason, I'm having a hard time grokking enchantment, spirit binding and related topics in general. I'm sure I'm just having a reading comprehension issue, but I am confused.

  2. I signed up for a RuneQuest game; I'm in an active game online, and we played last Saturday, and due to schedules, won't play until the end of October. Oh and it's free 😀

  3. I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing the expanded sorcery stuff. I like how RuneQuest takes some of the tropes of wizards and fits them into the setting. Malkioni wizards, as part of the zzaburi caste, have to wear robes and a pointy hat, can't engage in physical combat or labor. Like wizards in D&D aren't good at fighting and are physically weak, and wear robes and pointy hats, etc.

Changing the sorcery rules would be nice.

Getting rid of the one round cast time (leave the rest as is) would be a good start.

Say that the sorcery flavor of the grey sages is slower but true sorcerors don't need the 1round start up because they are more efficient in their way of approaching sorcery, due to not having to do through a god. BAM! Sorcery kinda fixed.

Little late for them to revamp the rules...the book has been printed already.

No, the problem is that players usually take the path of least resistance. I want to kill the enemy runelord.

Why bother spending magic points for magic damage when a damage boosted sword is clearly much better? (It always was).

So the magic damage takes a step back and it's only good against magically unskilled low armor opponents... And the damage boosted sword is looking even more effective.

So now our spells are only good for long range... But turns out a random dude with a bow will drop 3 enemies by the time you casted once...

Now imagine you are with your group, and by the time you cast a spell the combat is over. This isn't very fun for the sorcerer, is it?

So you want them to, what...totally change the Sorcery rules in RQG to suit you? What do you want done? Or are you just venting your spleen? The Sorcery rules in RQG are bare bones; says so right in the text on pg 381. It also says more is forthcoming, so maybe wait for more to come out?

Early evening MST for a couple of hours in the early week, days to change...I would like to play every week, but we will see. Did you give the first post a good read to see if this is for you.

I have the two adventure books for RQG and the slipcase set, as well as the Glorantha Sourcebook, which I haven't read all of yet. I am not very familiar with the lore or the classic stuff. I have no issue with playing in the era described. I just want to see the RQG rules in action.

Well awesome, we are getting near a game, Room for two more...

So, I figure it is time to address a question I have already asked myself. What’s the score on sharing copyright material in google docs that belong to material you have bought. Were I at a table, passing around a pic is easy, or just holding it up, or putting it in the middle of the table for reference. But online, hmm? @Rick Meintsor @MOBcould you be of assistance with this question?, What good sirs are the rules governing the use for a Theatre of the Mind style Spype call game using materials like maps, pics of encountered NPCs and areas visited, text detailing customs and homelands all in a google doc. Is it "Don't ever"... "Destry after use" and "do not allow editing or copying" (don’t know if the last is possible). I assume if it says player aids than that should be okay but is there text that should accompany such items.  I also assume if I write my own copy and draw my own maps, bob’s yer uncle!

    Anyway thanks in advance!

    Cheers

What days and times are you thinking of this? I live in an Easter Standard Time zone.

A "template" for what?  Simple character-sheet?  A "live" character-sheet that can roll skills by name, handle Augments, etc?  Full-on char-gen?  Or...?

I think a character sheet. You can create "Actions" from the character sheet for dice rolling. I think they are just macros, really. I have no idea what is in the template, as it is not public.

The idea that either video games or D&D represent game balance is hilarious.

Nevertheless, game balance is overrated. I do think D&D players are too concerned about game balance. Sorry that made you want to mock me.  I'm not a fan of D&D, any edition, anymore, so maybe I'm biased.
