  1. Wouldn't it be better to have more foot soldiers in order to have enough combatants to fill the minor requirements to defend a fortification (which I think it is 10 people, according BotE)?
  2. It makes sense! I think all the saxons MUST attack the horses... 😈
  3. I meant the experience points each winter phase, not at chargen.
  4. Wondering... do you have any house rule for the saxons or any other enemy to attack the horses instead of the knights? I mean in normal combat (not battles). Or could they just attack (against the knight skill) and if they hit, just damage the horse instead of the knight if they want to?
  5. Maybe just giving them less points for skills it gets fixed (?)
  6. Don't worry! My fault Yep, I will suggest that to him, but if he insists...
  7. Sorry but I'm not a native speaker, with "raw" do you mean good or bad? 😅
  8. I know, but since Morien said that BotEnt is RAW, I was wondering if there's any other alternative
  9. And do you suggest if a player wants to play his son as 14 year old squire? What rules would you use?
  10. So when there is PD, then some improvements could be destroyed and if it's repaired they will be automatically rebuilt? I find weird if there is PD that the coneygarth keeps giving the extra pounds!
  11. Yeah, the problem is a PK died very early and his eldest son is 14 now and is going to be the squire of another PK, so he insists he wants to play it...
  12. Yes, I find strange that there isn't any system in BotE/W for losing improvements when a manor is attacked 🤔
  13. After a manor is reassessed, is it possible to build (again) investments that require space? Also, I'm thinking about letting my PKs to build on some of their scondary manors with some restrictions (for example they wouldn't benefit from the glory of a castle or the energic mark of a mellisarium built in Lonazep), what do you think?
  14. Very good options! As for the combat, I think I will keep them out of combat most of the time, with some exceptions... And regarding PK-squires what system do you use for creating this PKs? BotEnt?
  15. What about temporary squires (p.18, BotEnt)? Maybe he could take a temporary squire for two years? Don't know. I thought nepotism like this was accepted and common...
  16. Two quick questions about squires... 1) Do squires fight when there is a combat or do they stay apart? 2) Is it possible to change a squire for another one? I have a PK who has a 14 y.o. squire, but in two years his nephew is going to be 14 and wants him to be his squire...
  17. Regarding servitum debitum of reassessed manors... let's say a manor reassessed is worth £19, so it'd be one knight and 12 foot soldiers. But then the knight builds a mellisarium (+£1). When he eventually dies and the manor is re-reassessed and then is worth £20, what happens with the army? is it one knight and 13 foot soldiers? or the usual 2 knights and 6 foot soldiers? and in that case, does it cost honor to dismiss the soldiers? 🤔
  18. Also... the personnel of the manor y calculated based on the new value (reassessed value minus widow's portion)? 😱😭
  19. So the manor will then have a value of £13 instead of £10. If the contract doesn't specifies, the widows portion (after reassessing) would be (rounded) £4.5 and her servitum debitum would be of (rounded) £2 (that is, 4 foot soldiers). And the rest of the servitum (£5) would correspond to the heir (or the guardian), equal to one knight (himself) and two foot soldier. And £0.8 DF (£1 rounded?). Right? If the contract specifies that the dower if fixed at £3.5 (taken from the original manor value), then her servitum debitum would be the usual 3 foot soldiers (£1.5). And the rest (£5.5) for the knight (heir or guardian, whatever), that is the knight and 3 foot soldiers. And £0.9 DF (still £1 rounded??) Right? What scenario if better for the PK??? How much DF will be left for him on each case? I'm having trouble dealing with this 🤕
  20. What about if the manor hast improvements? Will it be reassessed before the widow portion is taken or after it? Let's say it is a manor (£10) with mellisarium (£1) and coneygarth (£2).
  21. Ok, I'm also asking because my players tend to gather all their forces in the main manor in order to have de minimum of troops to defend their fortified mottes... Apart from that, I have a question about sieges regarding this (Rydychan's) adventure... I wouldn't use the "simple siege resoltion" rules on BotE, right? Because they are very simple. What rules do you use for sieges? How do you run them during an adventure?
  22. Do the household knights live in the main manor of the PKs (sleep in their hall, etc)?? Or do they live in the extra manors for which they are household?? Same question with the soldiers. I am asking this because most of my PKs have their manors in Salisbury, but one of them has one in Lonazep and other in Silchester.
