foolcat Posted September 17 Share Posted September 17 (edited) If somebody is on the fence whether to jump on this opportunity: I was one of the backers of the 3rd edition. If I didn’t own it already in print and as a PDF, I’d buy it again. 😄 In my opinion, OpenQuest is one of the best takes on a rules-light, yet feature complete (fantasy) D100 systems out there. It’s concisely and clearly written, and thus very easy to pick up. Characters are created in a jiffy, skill test resolution is super fast, and rules for combat encompass social interactions, which I like, because physical D100 combat has this tendency to get deadly real quick (in memoriam of many a RQ character lain to rest). In my experience it’s reassuring for players to know that there are viable alternatives to physical combat that are backed by RAW. And these are just a few things I like about it.
