It is recommended that the party get 1000 coins each as a budget to outfit a ship & crew if they want to start as pirates. Lots of nice stuff on sample ships of the period, modifications (and their costs), sailing combat and crewing a ship......except I cannot seem to find anywhere (except for ship mods) the *cost* of the basic ship and hiring the crew.
