PerryLin
Are there any significant differences between 1st and 2nd editions of SB? Is the second ed distinguished by a deeper box? Thanks for any reply.

First ed. was in a 2" (5cm) thick box. 1 Quote Hope that Helps,Rick Meints - Chaosium, Inc.
Yinkin
Sorry for the thread necromancy. I am a little confused by the editions of Stormbringer. On rpg.net they claim that there are three versions of classic Stormbringer: 1st edition, 1st printing (1981). Deep box, one 144 page rulebook. rpg.net: "The rulebook is identifiable from the second printing of the first edition via its red cover illustration." 1st edition, 2nd printing (1983?). Shallow box. Single rulebook, blue-green cover illustration with errata printed on inside cover. 2nd edition (1985). Shallow box, rulebook divided into 3 booklets. (https://index.rpg.net/display-entry.phtml?mainid=1074&editionid=1188) However the version I have has a shallow box, a single book inside with a red cover and the errata on the inside cover. Back cover says "award winning game". Copyright year given as 1981. So from what I can guess my version seems to be a second printing of the 1st edition, with the one given as the 2nd printing on rpg.net being a third printing? Rick Meints
Between 1981 and 1985 there were 5 printings of boxed Stormbringer. The 2" box had at least two distinct printings. The 1" box had at least two printings, but I do not know of any specific differences. What I do know is that contents sometimes get shuffled by their owners, especially if they owned more than one set over a long number of years. Some people cobble together a set by combining a couple of partial sets. Further complicating matters is the fact that the boxed sets were collated in house and they used up older printings of material before switching to the newer printing on an item by item basis. That's the curse of being the Chaosium, instead of the Orderium. 1 3 Quote Hope that Helps,Rick Meints - Chaosium, Inc.
Marcus Bone
Making no claim to this information but here's what I've been able to gather (and will updating with @Rick Meints's comments) - https://www.stormbringerrpg.com/?p=2754 For full disclosure my insights all come from the Acaeum (https://www.acaeum.com) a website and forum dedicated to the collection of Dungeons & Dragons material (and other RPGs, of course), as well as Wayne's books (http://www.waynesbooks.com/ElricStormbringer.html#Prior) - a great place to get your second hand gems btw!
