  1. ...to cast an eye over an interview I did with Lawrence Whitaker for the Stormbringer! site.

There's a little bit of a rush on it, as I want to get it and another interview I've done (with Jason Durall) up before the end of the month.

If you're interested in helping, feel free to post/PM me here or email me at stormbringerrpg@gmail.com

    Thanks!

  2. Well it took a bit more than an hour, but the result - nevertheless - is that the correct copy of Charles Green's Gods of Law in the Young Kingsdoms is now up and available at - http://www.stormbringerrpg.com

Binder, how many pages long should the document be? I have 96 pages...

Hey Steve, the correct copy is 112 pages in lenght and has bookmarks in the Table of Contents (plus other things like a hi-res cover image, etc.)

    As always, comments are welcomed!

  3. Interestingly, Chaosium and Mongoose have apparently done a deal so the entirety of the Chaosium back catalogue of SB / Elric! books are available in PDF form from DriveThruRPG - looks like it's the scanned files Chaosium were previously offering themselves via DTR, and it DOESN'T include any of the monographs or Darcsyde's Corum.

    Interesting stuff!

I understand that the contracts around the Monographs is for one print run only (hence the agreements I have with the authors to put them up on stormbringerrpg.com).

Hopefully this does something to revive the interest in SB even more!

  4. Well obviously I'm a big fan of 5th edition and the previous Elric! rules... no surprise really when I run the stormbringerrpg.com site :P

As for the discussion around Elric in your adventures... I'm pretty sure 5th edition is based (as a default) during the first year of Elric's reign, hence he still sits on the Ruby Throne rather than being out and about in the Young Kingdoms.

  5. As some here might know, I used to edit and produce the Unbound Book fanzine, and previously laid out a couple of the Stormbringer Monographs back in the day. While I'm not intending to throw myself into something like a fanzine again (I really don't think that there is a 'space' for such a publication these days), I am interested in offering my "abilities" to help out with the layout/editing any Monographs that might be being prepped for delivery to Chaosium now or in the future.

If you are interested, please feel free to PM me.

Marcus (Binder of the Unbound Book)

P.S. I am posting this here as I can't seem to post in the Monograph and Supplements forum.

  6. Hi All,

Gods of Law will be up on Stormbringerrpg.com soonish. I've also got an interview with Jason Durall and an audio recording of a SB session to put up as well...

As for my excuse, well actually I've finishing up a supplement for another game (Dungeonslayers) and am doing a bunch of things for GUMSHOE.

    Thanks for bearing with me.

  7. Having missed my September update window (due to my youngest being rushed to hospital), I'm happy to say that there is now a series of new articles available up on Stormbringer! - Supporting the Stormbringer RPG.

In this month's update we have:

    - Calisander - a SB 5th edition adventure set in Old Hrolmar (complete with specifically commissioned art!)

    - A Brief Guide to Old Hrolmar - a 'cut down' version of Richard Watt's monograph of the same name.

    - Alternate Magics - an article by Andrea Rocci on adding a little more chaos to magic and summoning in SB.

Thanks to all those who have contacted me in the past few months, and yes there are still plans to upload the various SB monographs. When? When I get a chance!

  8. As Pete says, these items can be replicated using the rune magic system found in the Magic of the YK book from Mongoose (was meant to be in the main rules but got cut for space reasons). I agree that mundane items with sorcerous powers certainly occur, but actually being bound demons - sentient or not - is exceedingly rare. The rune magic rules were consciously designed to achieve the effects of Jagreen Lern's armour and the pirate captain's axe, and Pete and I worked very closely together on developing the system.

For what its worth, I agree (although Lern's armour was demon-bound wasn't it?). If there is one thing that annoyed me about Elric/SB it was the overuse of Demon-armour/weapons. The over abundance of magic was up there, but that's for another post!

I should also mention that while I'm not a big fan of Mongoose's EoM, I love what Loz has done with Demon summoning, Pacts and Rune magic. I plan on porting this over to my own 20sided conversion at some point.

  9. I'll pore through my files and see if there's anything suitable for submitting to the site.

    Hey Jason,

Anything SB you might have would be great to have on the site. I always thought it was a shame that the 'reboot' (i.e. SB5) of the game sort of died before it had a chance to take off and your 'Slaves of Fate' was the only real support.

BTW, I should ask - would you be interested in being interviewed for the site? Just a look at your SB work and anything else you might want to 'pimp'...

  10. Good News...

I've received permission (from all parties) to upload not only Gods of Law but all of the Stormbringer Monographs to Stormbringerrpg.com.

I'm fortunate enough to have .pdf copies of both Old Hrolmar and Gods of Law on my HDD (as I was the one who did the layout) and Charles has kindly forwarded me a copy of his Gods of Chaos Monograph (which I'll reformat to match the other two in style).

Don't hold your breath, but they will slowly make their way up to the site!

  11. Thanks for the kind words Marcus. It's always nice to get positive feedback. It makes it all worthwhile and knowing people enjoy Cthulhu Rising keeps me inspired to write for the setting. :thumb:

I am always looking to get adventure reports from groups over at the Cthulhu Rising forums, if you're interested..?

    Already signed up :P

I've also decided to run 'Ground Zero' at the local Horror Con we have down this neck of the woods around Halloween every year... so I'll report back on that too!

  12. Just have to say that I also purchased a copy of the PDF during the last Chaosium sale. Fantastic work... I really think that you are on to a winner of a game here (the last time I had this feeling for a CoC setting was Dark Ages!)

Looks like my old group (it seems that their new Keeper saw the same sale!) are going to, at the very least, run the adventures on Ottomancer's site. I get to listen in on these (they record the sessions for poor old Marcus stuck at the other end of the country) and so will report back on their progress!

  13. Hi there,

I understand the reasons why you might have a function to limit PMing until a user has posted a certain number of times, but I discovered an issue :P

How does one reply to a PM sent to you? Would be good to allow replies or even block PMs being sent to new users until they are established...

Sorry for the rushed post - I'm being dragged away by a NightGaunt as I write this....

  14. Howdy All,

Talking about this, I recently received all the material Richard Watts did for Gods of Law and I'm trying to get Chaosium to allow me to publish it up on Stormbringerrpg.com. I could easily put that (as well as the Guide to Old Hrolmar) up on the site - especially since I did all the layout :P

What I'm really after is a copy of Gods of Chaos, as it is the only SB supplement I don't own... if anyone here does, I'll happily open discussion on purchasing it!

    Marcus

  15. Hi All,

My name is Marcus Bone, and I've recently started a website called Stormbringer! (see Stormbringer! - Supporting the Stormbringer RPG) dedicated to Stormbringer 5th edition (and ELRIC!, the game's previous incarnation).

My aim to support this game system, which I think was fantastic, even though Chaosium has now transferred the rights to Mongoose Publishing. There's not much up on the site at the moment, but it will build over time (I have plenty awaiting formatting and art etc.)

Comments, feedback and general chatter is always welcome.

    Regards,

    Marcus Bone (stormbringerrpg@gmail.com)

P.S. I have moved to obtain permissions from all three parties involved (Monngoose, Chaosium and Michael Moorcock) for this site and have received 2 replies so far (positive), awaiting the third.
