  3. Playing online now you're home? Try out our virtual backgrounds to add some epic flavour to your RPG sessions. Once only available to film and television, many computers are able present virtual backgrounds as though a person had a green screen. They can easily be used to spice up what your fellow gamers see. Check out your software to see if you can use one. We've put together a collection of images from our games to use as a backdrop, for Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, 7th Sea, and King Arthur Pendragon. Or use the Chaosium Library as your backdrop: You'll find all of these on our Online Gaming - Getting Started page. Take Part in our Virtual Background Competition! Use one of these backgrounds when playing online - Zoom, Google Hangouts, GoToMeeting, one of the VTTs (Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, Astral), etc, and share an image of it on social media with the hashtag #homewithchaosium. Note: to achieve the best virtual background effect, it's best to have a solid color background, preferably green, and to avoid wearing clothing that is the same color as the virtual background. For Zoom, here are the instructions for installing a virtual background: Right click image, 'save image as' In a Zoom meeting, click arrow beside video icon (bottom left) 'Choose virtual background' Click the + and select your saved image!
  4. COVID-19 Shipping and Fulfilment Update - April 7 https://www.chaosium.com/blogcovid19-shipping-and-fulfilment-update-april-7th We hope we hope that you, your family, and your friends continue to be in good health. Chaosium products that you order from our website are sent to you from our fulfilment warehouses in the USA, UK, EU, and Australia. At present, all four warehouses are reporting they are able to ship product as normal, except to Norway and Switzerland where delivery is currently not possible. Our Chaosium merchandise store at Redbubble is also printing and shipping as normal. Please note that delivery times may be slower than usual though. We will announce any changes to our shipping and fulfilment status as the situation continues to unfold. Remember that buying electronic versions of our products from Chaosium.com or DriveThruRPG is of course, unaffected. And, if you buy a PDF direct from Chaosium, you get the full price of the PDF off the printed book if you decide to buy it later. We've made the decision to not reduce our headcount nor cut anyone's hours: our team are Chaosium and what makes the company succeed. But we appreciate that many people are doing it tough in these strange and difficult times. We get it though, if current circumstances mean you can't afford to buy our products like you may have done in the past. In the meantime, please take a look at the Free Stuff we're offering on our website and our YouTube Channel, or maybe take part in our RuneQuest Coloring Contest. On behalf of the whole Chaosium team, wishing everyone all the best until the Stars are Right again. — Rick Meints, president Chaosium Inc.

  11. We aren't asserting any restriction to use of mechanics except to the extent that they are specifically covered in Prohibited Content, like Call of Cthulhu's Sanity mechanic. (BTW, questions like this should ideally be asked in the BRP System Reference Document/OGL Questions Thread, so the answers are all in one convenient place.)

So today should have been the day Chaosium gathered the staff from around the globe to take up residence in our new, custom-designed corporate headquarters in scenic Ypsilanti, Michigan – but we're doing the responsible thing and staying on lockdown. We'll be using the extra time to puzzle out the non-Euclidean office arrangement, so all 23 of us somehow get a corner with a view.
