  1. Well if you want, I can send you the sheet to try out. I could probably do with a few more playtesters. They not only have a good chance of spotting something really stupid that I missed, but they also give me a good idea about if the rules are too complex for BRP. I know what I'm willing to go through, but I don't know just what everyone else considers too much. Besides the faster I get feedback, the faster I can get this ready to put in the Download Section. And once there is some sort of spaceship design system, we will have the last missing requirement for the genre. At least the last complex bit. With a few sample designs, then people who don't want to design their own ships could at least use (and maybe modify) the stock designs. And maybe we could collect a bunch of peoples designs into some sort of database or PDF file. I suppose I could start a thread like I did in the past for various aspect of vehicle design and my revised SIZ table. Now that SIZ table I really should put in the DL section. Several people seem to use that. What format? PDF or a spreadhseet?. Yes, new stuff will probably help. What might not be a bad idea would be if we took that list of things and maybe make them a "sticky: in a locked thread. As other good ideas pop up, they could get put into the sticky.
  2. Possibly, It would depend on how well those two could get along and decide what tings to sacrifice. Between the two it is an interesting setting, and one that lends itself to a sort of shared universe project.
  3. Hmmm...maybe we can convince Wizards of the Coast to warehouse their 4E stock in New Orleans?
  4. BZZZ. Sorry, you forgot to phrase that in the form of a quatrain.
  5. I'll pass on the Volcanic. The Sharps isn't bad. It's Reliable and with range about as good as any firearm of the era. But I think I'll take the Spencer.
  6. Not really. Jason based BRP on WoW and Elric! rather than RQ3. IMO a bad move as neither is very functional. BRP ended up saddled with the flaws of thiose systems as well. For example the lousy Elric! parry table. Also BRP diverts from RQ in other ways, including opposed rolls. It's probably easier to mish-mash RQ2/3 than it is to mish-mash the options in BRP to get it to work for Glorantha. Most of BRP's perks, wouldn't apply to Glorantha anyway.
  7. It's the runaway increase that's the problem.
  8. So what we would likely see would be mostly smoothbores with some rifled muskets, and the odd percussion cap or breach loading weapon?
  9. Amazing the things you can find on eBay these days. Just wait until someone builds a space elevator. It's too far to climb. Perhaps you could call you world the Oxydationsphere? But, as it is made of wheatpaste, it isn't likely to rust. I'd be more worried about weeavils. Better take along a handy muzzle-loading smoothbore mass thrower.
  10. A wise move, Runespear. I promise not to leave you twisting in the wind when you are surrounded by Trollkin like that solar Deity Elmal. But what would you expect from that guy. Everyone seems to have kicked his butt during godtime, and in the last decade of so he lost and eye (as well as an "y" , and an "o"). "Oh, why did I lose and eye?" -Elmal to Greg Stafford
  11. You can pronounce "Atgxtg" by simultaneously sneezing and coughing. It just hurts a little. An please do not confuse me with those Cthulhuian wimps who are too afraid to leave home without the right horoscope. Ah, oh ignorant one, I never said I couldn't. Only that you should send me one. It is expected of powerful beings to delegate minor task to the flock that we could easily accomplish ourselves. It is supposed to make you feel like you are being watched over. At the least, it gives you something to do and keeps you out of pool halls. Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to keep the curtains closed.
  12. I don't now, I think the 8 AP vest in BRP is probably more useful than Morrow Project's resistaweave. [qoute] Yeah, a decent hero point style mechanic can do a lot to mitigate this problem. The Fate Point system is just too conservative to be up for the job.
  13. Possibly. I know I "offed" a lot of PCs in Morrow Project. My suggestion for adapting BRP to handling something like this would be to swipe Hero Point system from the James Bond RPG. Each Hero Point would allow a character to shift the die result by one level of success (or failure). So a character with a few HPs could use them to avoid the occasional lucky hit. A very minor modification, as far as tweaking goes, with a very major impact on game play.
  14. Yup. A good example would be running a firefight using D20 Modern. Once the characters hit a certain level, they are not going to drop from a single hit--even from a .50 caliber rifle! Most character have more that 20 hit points and the weapon does 2D10. This leads to tactics such as charging machinegun nests. Conversely, running the same fight in a different RPG results in a different style, fell and tactics. In something like the James Bond RPG or BRP charging a .50 cal. is usually suicidal. It's one reason why I would not want to run a Old West campaign using d20. The classic western "showdown" would turn into a comedy, with each shooter having to reload in order to do enough damage to drop the other guy.
  15. Relax mortals. I. in my infinite wisdom have diced to spare this pitiful planet. Bow down and send chocolate, a hot babe, and a new PC with 4GHz+ processor, 8 GB RAM, and at least 2TB hard drive.
