  1. I've been considering drawing up an RQG adventure/string of adventures that would involve trying to rollback the Upland Marsh, if only by a few inches. Do you all even think that this is even theoretically possible (if sticking to current Glorantha canon)? In my newbie RQG GM vision, this effort would entail trying to kill a black thorn tree (or several) and then destroying the magic rods that Delecti's servants had buried in the ground to act as markers of a marsh's new borders. All as part of an effort to begin a reclamation of parts of the marsh. Or, perhaps, the PCs are hired/convinced to try this, in order (unbeknownst to them) to draw Delecti's attention to the adventurers and away from some group making an attempt to infiltrate deep into the marsh for something. Thoughts?
  2. What about the durulz? I can imagine them enjoying all sorts of vegetable/fruit/grain-based dishes, but not all that much meat. Maybe fish (esp. stews) and escargot/snail dishes? Plus, one can imagine some Sartarite combining the formal observance of hospitality with insult, by serving a visiting duck waterfowl for dinner. Duck for a duck, anyone?
  3. Thanks for the input everyone. I got distracted by "real life," so forgot to check up on responses to my question. Again, I personally like hit locations and for a variety of reasons. But some of the people I'd like to introduce to RQG may not be so thrilled "too much bookkeeping," asif constantly revising your bag o' hit points current hp isn't a fair amount of bookkeeping.) I mentioned GURPS, since the way that combat system is set up you could have individual players using random hit locations, targeted shots, or just going with a default location all in the same combat if'n you want to. I was simply wondering if there might be a RQG equivalent.
  4. Let me start by saying that I'm a big fan of hit locations in an rpg combat system, especially since it makes targeted attacks and piecemeal armor feasible parts of a game. But not everyone (who I convince to try RQG) might be so thrilled. So, for players who don't really want to deal with random hit locations, does anyone think it would it be feasible to have a default target location with the RQG system? I'm thinking here of how in GURPS, if you don't want to deal with hit locations, you just assume that all attacks are to the torso. Has anyone done something similar in their RQ games? If so, how did you make it work?
  5. Hey all, Out of curiosity, have any of you run "Alone Against the Dark" utilizing just the rules from the starter set or does it absolutely require the full rule set? I ask since I was considering purchasing the starter set for one of my kids (and since I don't want to send the money on the full rules yet.) Thanks in advance for any input!
  6. Hope this won't be too much of a financial hit for Chaosium.
  7. Well, I'm not too upset at the chance of getting a free/discounted 2nd core rulebook. My kids already damaged the binding of the hardcopy I bought when they were first available. Now I'll either have two for use at home or I can pass a rulebook along to one of my friends (and maybe recruit another player!)
  8. Will all variant names (e.g. Uralda for Eiritha) be listed for each deity?
