EricW
That time your kid comes home with a clay model of a sea monster they saw in a nightmare. My kid has never to my knowledge ever read any Cthulhu stories. We live by the sea, near a place rumoured to be the site of ancient aboriginal magic, but the details have been lost - the original inhabitants were subject to a savage massacre during the early years of Australian colonisation. There was a logging industry but it was abruptly shut down many years ago, after the government declared the place off limits to logging and industry. The place is popular with tourists. Very occasionally a tourist disappears, or dies in an unlikely accident, like being struck by lightning, or attacked and mauled by dingoes. Some of the bodies of people who disappear are never recovered. But the stories are all just fiction, right?
