  1. Okay, thanks for the responses. I was mainly interested in the DW article details about the, uh, Gwaefir. I'm remembering a smaller race, light frames, no heavy armor (leather at most) and missle weapons. Hmm, homes built on high ground/cliffs?

As long as I don't set up a culture of winged humanoids who specalize in underground mining I think I'll be okay. ;D

Rust: I am curious about the Wind Children stats, having never seen the RQ Vikings box. The smiley makes me think they are rather powerful, not the idea I was going for.

  2. Gamma World meets Fallout 3? Anything Gamma World is a huge plus in my book, but like kaddawang, I'm not sure where you are going with this heavily modified BRP(?) character creation.

I'd suggest you finish it up as a PDF and have it added to the download section, rather than bits and pieces in posts. It should make more sense when you can sit down and read all of it.

  3. Methinks, the stat blocks are missing 1's and dashes? IIRC, the block looks like this:

    STR 2d6+6 13

    CON 1d6+12 15 - 16

    SIZ 1d6+12 15 - 16

    INT 2d6+6 13

    POW 3d6 10 - 11

    DEX 3d6 10 - 11

    APP 2d6 7

    Hit Points: 16

Despite Harshax being overly sensitive, he is correct. There are some definite issues with the Creatures PDF. Here and there are missing "1's" and "L's". The problem is with the PDF, not my printer BTW.

I'm sure the boys at Chaosium will get this corrected, but they have to be embarassed to see this make it out the "door".

  4. What does the creatures PDF contain? Is it based on the RQ3 Monsters book?

    It contains creatures. Duh.

    ;)

I don't have the RQ3 book, but I'd guess.... yeah, it probably is. You get an alphabetical list of about 90 creatures, allosaurus to zombie, with a fairly, er, basic selection. Rules for playing Broo, Centaur, Duck, Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Ogre, Orc, and Troll characters.

If you have a pretty good collection of BRP games, you don't really need this. It filled in a few gaps for me, and I like having one resource to turn to instead of digging out Hawkmoon to check stats for oxen, but that's me.

If you are new to BRP, then this is probably worth $9 and a bit of paper and ink (fifty pages long) to print out. Hope this helps.

In other news, I didn't see any real need for the BRP Gamemaster PDF, at least for any veteran GM. Anyone have it, and want to sell me on it?

  5. Which brings up a good opportunity I think, rleduc. How nice would it be to see some of the monographs get some extra support through the BRP Adventures mongraphs? Might not work in every case of course, as some would no doubt require the full monograph to really understand the adventure setting, but still....

To use a videogame analogy, we often see a demo for a game to build interest for the full game. Why not a sample adventure with some setting notes to promote a BRP monograph?

See how easy it is to volunteer others to do work? :)

  6. So, who is planning on writing something for this? Anyone looking at doing something for a Pulp or Supers genre?

I'm very tempted to write up something, just a quick adventure so I can actually have the satisfaction of seeing something finished. Of course that would take time and focus away from another project I've been working on since last year -so I'm torn.

On the other hand, I'm hoping to see another historic based adventure or two in this next monograph. Any volunteers? :D

After edit: Can we merge this and the other announcement thread?
