  1. So I've looked but cannot find who the gods are on the cover of the rules. Some are obvious, some I'm guessing, some I have no idea 🙂 Best guess attached:
  2. No one ever gets out of Dorastor 😈
  3. I do have all the Sandheart volumes, but I meant The Coming Storm. But that's a good tip and there was a later version with your family history in it, that wasn't there when I first got it, so happy now 🙂 Thanks
  4. I have it but I can't read it as I'm playing it 😊, but I thought it was set later than the 1500s?
  5. Yes, I have the Early Family History but I bought it awhile ago, I should check if there is a later version cheers Martin
  6. Thanks for that, I did browse the Well of Daliath a bit but missed that one! There's a couple of events I can grab 🙂 I'm only doing it for Sartar cheers Martin
  7. I'm putting together a campaign to start in 1608 and developing a modified family history to start in 1565. I've looked in the Guide, the Sourcebook, King of Sartar and the Family History on the Jonstown Compendium and put together the following: 1565 – Death of Jarolar fighting Tarsh King Phargentes 1565 – Coronation of Jarosar – Built Royal Road from Jonstown to Dangerford 1565-1574 - Orldaging War 1569 - Death of Jarosar by Lunar spirits/Poisoning 1569 - Coronation of Tarkalor – Extends trade route to Duck Point, Builds Royal Road to Whitewall 1570 – Tarkalor hires Dragonewts 15?? – Tarkalor opens trade route to Kethaela 1575 - Tarkalor marries the Feathered Horse Queen 1575 - Orldaging War ended by Tarkalor 1579 - Tarkalor recognized that the Yelmalio cult was legal possessor of the lands of the Amber Fields and Forthanland 1582 - Battle of Grizzly Peak – Tarkalor dies – 1582 - Battle of Alda Chur 1582 – Terasarin crowned – Built Royal Road from Dangerford to Alda Chur 1583 Alone founded by Terasarin 1591 – Lunar invasion 1597 Lunar Assassins kill members of the Sartarite royal family 1600 – Terasarin killed by a dinosaur As you can see between 1583 and 1601 , it seems pretty uneventful (except for a lot of Royals dying mysteriously). Does anyone know of other events that have happened and/or when Tarkalor opened the trade route to Kethaela? thanks in advance Martin
  8. So, while they're a number of women Heroes and Superheroes involved in the Hero Wars (Jar-eel, Kallyr, Gunda, Leika), but who are the Ernaldan Heroes that play a part - Entarios the Supporter? The Feathered Horse Queens - Vistera and Inkarne (Single Matron Woman?). Any ideas?
  9. Thanks Joerg, some neat and evil ideas there 😈
  10. Hi, does anyone know anything about this? It's mentioned in the Sartar Companion and it's one of the versions of Trickster studied at the Trickster College in Slontos before it was destroyed cheers Martin
  11. As a player, I'm finding myself way more likely to use RP than I was ever likely to use my Rune magic in RQ2 OR RQ3, partly because I never made Runepriest/Runelord, and so it was never reusable and partly because my rune spells were far less flexible than RPs. I think RPs are a more fun alternative to single use rune magic
  12. So in RQ2, allied spirits could be disembodied, but in RQG is doesn't seem to be an option, all the examples are embodied. Does this mean that the standard spirit rules don't really apply? I've looked in the preview Gods and Goddesses of Glorantha and it doesn't provide anything more on allied spirits. I think there needs to be a bit more on how allied spirits start out and grow and what they can and can't do in the rules. They are a pretty important thing in the game and in Glorantha when you get to Rune levels, so they need a bit more explication IMO
  13. A few days ago, someone on the Facebook group commented that they found the canon end-stage for Glorantha (as per King of Sartar) to be quite depressing (and I can't really disagree), and they wondered about a positive end and this is what I wrote for a happy ending. The Lunar Empire is cleansed by the White Moonies and Orlanth, Ernalda and the White Moon Goddess end up in a happy threesome, spiced up by Draconic powers and a bit of Chaos, with Harshax as their love-child. Sartar is the priest at the wedding as the players have resurrected Larnst and taken Sartar's unifying peaceful magic and spread it across Genertela with the help of the re-incarnated Pharoah and the Only Old One who have become drinking buddies along with Cragspider. Jar-eel and Annstad live happily ever after. Argrath dies a bitter old drunk in a Kralorelan port talking about he could have been the champion. Harrek is poisoned by Gunda the Guilty as she fell in love with a Holy Country PC who was killed by Harrek. Sheng stays in Hell because the PCs interfere in Argrath's Lightbringer Quest and have him bring back Sartar instead or maybe Harmast. Pavis finally (with the help of PCs) regenerates Prax and the Desert Trackers actually manage to put Genert back together and the Wastes start to come alive again. Elder Sister spends several centuries chasing the Red Emperor across the White Moon and haranguing him about it's all his fault and how he should've listened to her. YGWV (sometimes drastically). I love canon, I love reading about it and I love breaking it and Glorantha has lots of great canon to break. King of Sartar is a tragedy, but your roleplaying campaign doesn't have to end up a tragedy, the PCs can pull out a happy ending at the last minute if they and you want it to happen. Lord of the Rings was about 30 minutes away from a TPK and I'm sure Greg wouldn't mind at all. A while back someone described an amazing campaign where Melo Yelo ended up as the Emperor of Dara Happa, about as far from canon as you can get and it sounded like a very fun campaign.
  14. I'd go with Mastery as the Free Will Rune
