  1. The comics and books are great stuff. Now to get back to the CoC / Hyboria linkage in BRP. You could look into cthulhu dark ages book. A few good things about CoC and Howard's works - the bad guys are bad and one can justly dishin' out death to magi and cultists and the magic and powers (that be) are evil, their use; dangerous and reality breaking for the participants(SAN).
  2. Imagine the possibilities of mixing the pulp worlds of Howard and Lovecraft together... yeah that'll be nice. But honesty Howard's magic, dark gods and creatures are already "Lovecraftian"
  3. how did the house rules work out for you Carlos?
  4. oh no, not "Red Wave" that sounds like some sort of personal hygiene product Open Sails, Sails upon the Horizon, High Seas – High Treason! Etc are much better
  5. looks like a choose your own adventure for RPG fans. - not that thats a bad thing!
  6. Indeed, and to tie that into another thread – that is why a combat round can be 6 to 12 seconds in duration. I however go with the “a round in an abstract portion of time, lasting as long as it takes’ theory. I like this and it is a version of what I run. Honesty anything to streamline the flow of the combat helps. Not everyone (ie my players) are grandiose bookkeepers. I need to look into Steve’s SPQR. I like set levels of success, which could tie into a good amount of other areas. I will likely use the idea and make my own charts. I think we all do that as GMs, give a little here and there if the percentile roll is good.
  7. thanks I boned up my profile bio bit RPG: started playing in the Army in 1998, DnD. the 2nd ed, the 3rd (which now I refrain from d20 systems), attempted 4th but alas it is a table top hack slash WoW and there for not my cup of tea. I have a campaign setting I DM. I hope to have some BRP stuff about it posted someday soon.
  8. Hello to everyone I look forward to chatting and learning more.
