  1. A blog with some kind words for Dark Streets and Hellfire: "Case the First: Cakebread & Walton. These guys are making some of the most amazing historical books I've seen in a very long time. Their "Dark Streets", which I wrote about previously, brings the mythos to 18th century London with exquisite details, and a system that's very compatible with CoC's. And just recently, they sent me a courtesy PDF of a recent adventure: Hellfire!, which details a dark and secret evil lurking in Sir Francis Dashwood's Hellfire Club, in an adventure that could have been easy to make very shallow, but instead the authors went for something complex and magnificence, with some unexpected surprises." 2. Dark Streets is Cakebread & Walton's game of investigation and Lovecraftian horror set in 18th century London. 4. Thank you Ken was poorly for the last 3 or 4 months of last year - he just got over his bout of illness...and then broke his ribs. That said, over that time he still managed to work on lots of projects (Dark Streets, Under the Lamplight, and various other stuff). Thankfully he is better now, so we can get on with planning our schedule - it is looking to be packed.
  5. Not yet, aside from the things that have already been announced - but it shouldn't be too long before we release details of some new projects.
  6. Dark Streets is a sourcebook for Renaissance. Info here: Dark Streets PDF available now! – Clockwork and Chivalry and a review: DriveThruRPG.com and not a review: Dark Streets, by Cakebread & Walton This is not a… | RPGpundit on Xanga It includes one adventure (although there are lots of adventure seeds). Another adventure, Hellfire, has been released as a pdf: Hellfire - Cakebread & Walton | DriveThruRPG.com A print version of Hellfire will be out in the Spring.
  7. Thanks for the kind words, everyone We just finished Dark Streets (Bow Street Runners vs Mythos - horror on the dark streets of Georgian London) and Hellfire (a Dark Streets adventure) for Renaissance. We have at least two more settings planned for the Renaissance system, and there are some third party releases in the offing. We're also brewing some other material for some of our existing lines. We were going to release a New Year statement with our release schedule, but Ken was poorly for the last few months of 2012. It hasn't slowed us down much (as we had lots of things to sign off in that time), but did delay the release of our plans - watch this space - we'll have lots of exciting news coming up
  8. When a raid on a high-class brothel uncovers sinister doings, the clues lead the Bow Street Runners to a most unexpected and horrific conclusion. An adventure for Dark Streets. Warning: Contains adult themes! Available for download now from DriveThruRPG... Hellfire - Cakebread & Walton | DriveThruRPG.com
  9. A pdf of an adventure for Dark Streets, called "Hellfire", will be out in the next few days. Hardcopy of "Hellfire" will be available in the Spring. I'll start a new thread and post links when it is released
  10. Another good review of Renaissance Deluxe... Age of Ravens: Renaissance RPG: A What the What? Review
  11. And the first (and very positive) review of Dark Streets is already up, on Drivethru: DriveThruRPG.com - Dark Streets Reviews
  12. Yes - C7 will be publishing the hardcopy. As soon as I have a release date, I'll post
  13. "Dark Streets: The Adventures of the Bow Street Runners in their Struggle Against the Minions of the Cthulhu Mythos" is now available as a PDF. And as a special Christmas offer, if you buy the Dark Streets PDF, you can get the Renaissance Deluxe rules bundled with it for only $1 extra! Dark Streets The Adventures of the Bow Street Runners in their Struggle Against the Minions of the Cthulhu Mythos London, 1749: A city of vice, crime and misery. Gangs of ruffians rule the streets, unopposed. Brothels proliferate. Child-beggars starve in filthy gutters. Corrupt night-watchmen and thief-takers turn a blind eye to wrong-doing. And dark creatures lurk in back alleys, called from beyond by the desperate with nothing left to lose. But there is a new force on the streets of London; for the author and magistrate Henry Fielding has teamed up with his brother John to form the city’s first police force – the Bow Street Runners. The Fieldings have persuaded parliament to fund their crime-fighting endeavour, but they know that there is something behind the vice – for John Fielding’s blind eyes can see things that others cannot – things that man was not meant to know. Dark Streets is a worldbook and adventure for the Renaissance Deluxe RPG, in which players take on the roles of officers in London’s first, desperately small, police force, investigating the dark secrets behind the sordid crimes of eighteenth century London. A mixture of authentic history and the cosmic horror of H.P. Lovecraft, Dark Steets comes to you from the designers of Clockwork & Cthulhu, Clockwork & Chivalry and the Origins Award Nominated Abney Park’s Airship Pirates RPG. Requires the Renaissance Deluxe RPG core rulebook. http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info..._id=109328&it=1

    Reviews

Hi Folks, There are some great reviews of Clockwork & Chivalry 2nd edition, Kingdom & Commonwealth Omnibus I, and Renaissance Deluxe, over at RPGNet. "Clockwork and Chivalry is one of the best historical games I have seen this year, and the only one from this column that has gone on to become a regular weekly campaign for my regular gaming group. Cakebread and Walton, the authors, deserve high honors for their game and should be proud to live up to their title of purveyors of fine imaginings." 15. I'd love to do a globe spanning campaign, taking in more than one Seven Years War theatre of operations...although not sure how that would fit with our current schedule... We do have someone working on a New World supplement, but no confirmed release date yet. Lots of great ideas so far
  16. These all seem like sound house rules to me. Depending on my players, I'd possibly use the Abilities, and Free Skill points changes at character gen.
  17. I've lived on the edge of Dartmoor, and I can certainly vouch for its strangeness...
  18. Another very cool suggestion I got a bit side-tracked reading about the Border Reivers when researching for C&C, so a lot of the research is already in the bag...
  19. Who doesn't love pirates It's been on our list for a while. We'd really love to do a full book, but we have quite the schedule...
  20. Roleplayers Chronicle have posted a review of Renaissance Deluxe: Roleplayers Chronicle » Review: Cakebread & Walton – Renaissance Deluxe
  21. Hi Folks, I thought it would be fun to canvass you all for your ideas on this one. We're currently working on finishing Dark Streets, but we also have some Flintlock & Steel adventures lined up for Renaissance Deluxe. Flintlock & Steel are a series of short adventures, that use the Renaissance Deluxe rules (the first in the series, Adrian Jones's rather excellent The Mystery of Shirdley Hall, set in the Clockwork & Cthulhu setting, is already available). What would your dream setting be for a Flintlock & Steel adventure?
  22. Thanks folks There are no adventures in the Renaissance Deluxe corebook, but there is plenty of information on using the rules in different black powder settings (early Early Modern, late Early Modern, historical, alternate historical, fantasy, etc). Adventures (3) are available in the Clockwork & Cthulhu sourcebook, and likewise there will be adventures included in the forthcoming Dark Streets. There is also the first in a series of Flintlock & Steel pdf adventures for D100 available on Drivethru - The Mystery of Shirdley Hall - Cakebread & Walton | DriveThruRPG.com We plan for other Flintlock & Steel titles to include adventures for other Renaissance settings (some established, and some new). There will also be Realms of Gold, a fantasy black powder setting for Renaissance Deluxe. Here is the Renaissance Deluxe FAQ page: Renaissance Deluxe FAQ – Clockwork and Chivalry And if you scroll down on the folowing link, there is some more information on Renaissance, Dark Streets, and Realms of Gold: Renaissance – Clockwork and Chivalry
  23. That nice Mr Hodgson at Cubicle 7 has done a spiffy video preview of Renaissance Deluxe for us...
  24. Many thanks! I hope you have fun with it
