  9. Pirates & Dragons: The Roleplaying Game "Pirates like gold. Dragons like gold. When the terrors of the sea meet the terrors of the sky, there’s bound to be trouble!" They came from Albion, from Gaule and Esbania and Batavia, in search of the treasures of the New World. They found a menace older than mankind – dragons! In their mountain lairs on the Dragon Isles, giant beasts – old and wise and malevolent – sit on their piles of gold, surrounded by their zombie minions. The natives have found ways of appeasing or evading them – the Dragon Tribes honour them with gold and human sacrifice, the other Islanders use their magic to hide away or resist. The Uropans must rely on gunpowder and cold steel. And the pirates? The pirates will use whatever comes to hand in their battle with the dragons. Armed with science, sorcery, steel and superstition, they take the fight into the dragons’ lairs in their endless quest for gold. Pirates & Dragons is a role-playing game of fantasy swashbuckling in a world of magic and treasure, of fantastical islands inhabited by strange beasts and vile necromancers, of treachery and heroism. Together with a group of friends, you take on the role of pirates, out for adventure and booty – raiding the treasure galleons of Esbania, the merchant fleets of Gaule and Batavia, the dragon-hunting ships of Albion, the ruins of lost Adalantas… and the gold-filled caves of ancient and evil dragons. Gather your crew. Load your flintlocks. And prepare to plunder! Pirates & Dragons features slick, cinematic game mechanics based on the acclaimed Renaissance D100 system, and comes to you from the Origins Award nominated authors of Abney Park’s Airship Pirates and Clockwork & Chivalry. A whole new game line coming soon from Cakebread & Walton! Watch out for news of the Kickstarter launch! Pirates & Dragons Kickstarter Imminent! – Clockwork and Chivalry

  17. Hi Rogerd, Thanks We do work with other writers on our RPGs and we are always open to suggestions. The fiction is a bit different, as it is being published through Chronicle City, not Cakebread & Walton (although we do publish it through our own Drivethru shop), so any submissions would go through them.
  18. Thank you, filbanto. Yes! Chronicle City are doing pre-orders at the minute (it has just gone off to the printers) - as soon as I have a street date I'll post
  19. In a 17th century that didn’t quite happen, a nation is torn apart by civil war. When an embittered mercenary agrees to escort a grieving widow to visit her husband’s grave, little does he realise the dangers they will face. This is the story of their struggle through a country divided. As they journey through tainted lands, ravaged by alchemical magic and giant clockwork war machines, they are reunited with old friends and stalked by sinister foes. The reluctant heroes band together in this tale of loss and despair, of redemption and friendship, and ultimately, of retribution and revenge! The Alchemist’s Revenge is the first volume in the Companie of Reluctant Heroes series, by the co-author of the multi-award winning Abney Park’s Airship Pirates RPG and the Clockwork & Chivalry RPG. 21. Nice mini-review of Dark Streets ... "Speaking of Cthulhu-related gaming stuff, I wanted to mention that my favourite RPG book of 2013 so far is (hands down) Dark Streets from Cakebread and Walton." Akratic Wizardry: Dark Streets
  22. "Roleplayers Chronicle made a major announcement today regarding the changes coming for 2013. One of the biggest changes is my move from doing reviews to a new article series called Featured Product. The multi-article Featured Product series will contain an in-depth test drive of a particular game system or setting. I am pleased to announce that the first Featured Product will be Clockwork & Chivalry/Cthulhu, coming in April. The Clockwork & Chivalry Featured Product series will contain a look at the game's setting, character creation, game balance, support, and production quality. From this series I'll be generating a collection of five pre-generated characters for use within your own adventures and campaigns, hopefully available for download at the Clockwork & Chivalry website (with the approval of Peter and Ken of course). The Featured Product series posts on Saturdays at 2:00 PM CST and should cover between 4 and 6 articles with a single article posting each week. I'll post links when each article comes available. You are all welcome to post comments and follow-ups to the presented article at the bottom of the article's page. You can even chat about your own experiences with Clockwork & Chivalry, Clockwork & Cthulhu, or the Renaissance system." 23. Glad you're liking the looks of it and thank you for your kind words There are other Flintlock & Steel adventures in the pipeline for Dark Streets (there are a couple of folk working on them now) - and we have something more substantial planned, futher along, if all goes well... The combat is deadly! I've run some thrilling and particularly grisly fights with the ruleset - and the sanity rules are fairly unforgiving too. I'm not sure whether the pdf ruleset will stay at the sale price - we always intended it to be an introductory sale. Sorry, that's a bit vague. I don't think I would do very well on The Apprentice. I guess we have faith that those folk who don't only use PDFs will like it so much that, once they've read it, they'll want the hardcopy.
  24. Nah, it uses the Heresy game engine (Victoriana, etc). It's a dice pool system, so it's more like D100 D6s...
