    A blog with some kind words for Dark Streets and Hellfire:

    "Case the First: Cakebread & Walton. These guys are making some of the most amazing historical books I've seen in a very long time. Their "Dark Streets", which I wrote about previously, brings the mythos to 18th century London with exquisite details, and a system that's very compatible with CoC's. And just recently, they sent me a courtesy PDF of a recent adventure: Hellfire!, which details a dark and secret evil lurking in Sir Francis Dashwood's Hellfire Club, in an adventure that could have been easy to make very shallow, but instead the authors went for something complex and magnificence, with some unexpected surprises."

    Dark Streets: The Adventures of the Bow Street Runners in Their Struggles Against the Minions of the Cthulhu Mythos, is available to preorder now as a print/PDF bundle!

    The 156 page book features extensive information and period maps of grim, vice ridden city of London in 1749; together with information on the Cthulhu Mythos in the city, numerous adventure seeds, a 30 page adventure, "Gin and St Giles" and a set of ready-made adventurers.

    The PDF is available immediately, and the print edition will be out in March.

    Ken was poorly for the last 3 or 4 months of last year - he just got over his bout of illness...and then broke his ribs. That said, over that time he still managed to work on lots of projects (Dark Streets, Under the Lamplight, and various other stuff). Thankfully he is better now, so we can get on with planning our schedule - it is looking to be packed.

    Can you say anything more without casuing any legal issues?

    Not yet, aside from the things that have already been announced - but it shouldn't be too long before we release details of some new projects.

    Thanks for the kind words, everyone :)

    We just finished Dark Streets (Bow Street Runners vs Mythos - horror on the dark streets of Georgian London) and Hellfire (a Dark Streets adventure) for Renaissance. We have at least two more settings planned for the Renaissance system, and there are some third party releases in the offing. We're also brewing some other material for some of our existing lines. We were going to release a New Year statement with our release schedule, but Ken was poorly for the last few months of 2012. It hasn't slowed us down much (as we had lots of things to sign off in that time), but did delay the release of our plans - watch this space - we'll have lots of exciting news coming up :D

    There are some great reviews of Clockwork & Chivalry 2nd edition, Kingdom & Commonwealth Omnibus I, and Renaissance Deluxe, over at RPGNet.

    "Clockwork and Chivalry is one of the best historical games I have seen this year, and the only one from this column that has gone on to become a regular weekly campaign for my regular gaming group. Cakebread and Walton, the authors, deserve high honors for their game and should be proud to live up to their title of purveyors of fine imaginings."

    If you could choose a setting for a Flintlock & Steel adventure...?

    Late 16th century Scottish Border Reivers. Very interesting time period full of "larger than life" characters, cattle raiding and small scale skirmishes. You can set the characters up as either members of a local clan out for some sweet revenge or over-worked wardens trying to maintain the peace.

    Reading material: "Candlemass Road" & "Border Reivers" by George MacDonald Frasier. Also a series of books by P.F. Chisholm (aka Patricia Finney). Osprey has a couple of books including one on the fortifications. Wargames Foundry and (I think) Vendel miniatures have lines of appropriate miniatures.

    Please leave Cthulhu out of this one:) Witchcraft would fit in perfectly though.

    I got a bit side-tracked reading about the Border Reivers when researching for C&C, so a lot of the research is already in the bag...

    Hi Folks,

    I thought it would be fun to canvass you all for your ideas on this one.

    We're currently working on finishing Dark Streets, but we also have some Flintlock & Steel adventures lined up for Renaissance Deluxe. Flintlock & Steel are a series of short adventures, that use the Renaissance Deluxe rules (the first in the series, Adrian Jones's rather excellent The Mystery of Shirdley Hall, set in the Clockwork & Cthulhu setting, is already available). What would your dream setting be for a Flintlock & Steel adventure?

    There are no adventures in the Renaissance Deluxe corebook, but there is plenty of information on using the rules in different black powder settings (early Early Modern, late Early Modern, historical, alternate historical, fantasy, etc).

    Adventures (3) are available in the Clockwork & Cthulhu sourcebook, and likewise there will be adventures included in the forthcoming Dark Streets. There is also the first in a series of Flintlock & Steel pdf adventures for D100 available on Drivethru -

    We plan for other Flintlock & Steel titles to include adventures for other Renaissance settings (some established, and some new).
