  1. Sorry. Just hearing about it today with all this news made it sound like it was all at the same time. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. Dude! ISS is gone from their relationship with MGP. Then the authors of MRQII both jump ship the same day that MGP drops Glorantha (Loz and Pete)...this is nuts! You can't tell me that both of them leaving the same day this all goes down has nothing to do with this announcement! Matt Sprange has to be reeling and getting lonely!
  3. I absolutely LOVE the system but am not really a big Glorantha fan even though the campaign my group is currently playing in is based in Gloratha the Second Age. I know Sprange claims that Wayfarer will be 100% compatible with the current MRQII and nothing will change in the new book except for the addition of errata but I hope they include some clarifications on movement, charging, etc. I also wonder if magic will change at all. Magic in MRQII is tied to cult membership, which is a Gloratha aspect. Will magic now be somewhat divorced of cult membership in terms of spell availability, etc. I wonder?
  4. I found the press release and figured out what all was going on shortly after my previous post. They say Warfarer will be 100% compatible with the current MRQ II rules but I wonder a bit if magic will get somewhat changed. Namely in how magic is tied into cult membership. Since cult membership and gaining magic through advancing through the ranks of a cult is largely a Glorantha advent, I wonder if magic in Warfarer will be somewhat divorced from having to be in a cult to gain access to spells. I must also say that the choice of name for this new version of the system, Wayfarer, sounds like they wanted something that sounded similar to Pathfinder. Did anyone else get this same vibe?
  5. My group is only 2 sessions into a new Mongoose RuneQuest II campaign. What does this mean for us? Can someone please explain in layman's terms to someone new to the game what just happened? What is this Wayfarer thing? Will it be the same system repackaged with a new name and maybe some settings? I am really taken aback here. Our campaign is currently based in 2nd. age Glorantha.
  6. Agree with you, seneschal, on vampires. Thanks all!
  7. Thanks Steve! Is it possible for me to simply use MRQII as my rules basis for whatever I run but pull toolkit parts from BRP to do special things? Fantasy definitely, since MRQII does this straight up. But let's say I want to run a modern day urban fantasy game with creatures of the night like vampires, werewolves, wizards, etc. I could just rip out how vampires, werewolves, etc. are built from BRP and their powers and insert them into a MRQII framework of rules that would still preserve that system's really neat Combat Maneuvers, and be golden?
  8. Is there a place I can get the newest version of this conversion please?
  9. I am a HUGE fan of MRQII, having picked up some of the books for it recently and falling in love with the game. My local face-to-face group is getting ready to start a new campaign for this game the week after next. The system is simply awesome, in my opinion. I have also heard good things about BRP so tonight I picked up the BRP big golden book at my local FLGS. I have a bit of worry though that if I learn BRP as well as I can it might get difficult for me to distinguish between the 2 systems when I am playing one of the other. Are any of you very familiar with both forms of D100 and if so, do you find it difficult to remember the intricacies of each when playing one or the other? Can you build supernatural creatures like vampires or werewolves with BRP and use them in an urban fantasy game? Can the BRP golden book handle sci-fi, modern, and historical, like pirates, etc? Thanks in advance!
