  1. So is the correct answer that the example is wrong? Is that the way previous editions worked?
  2. This is the way ADB updates their Star Fleet games. I like the model because things don't really go out of edition. Everything is still useable, and you can choose to buy an updated rulebook whenever.
  3. I had the same question skimming the damage rules. I am a noob and I've just hit the actual rules section of the book, so I'm sure I'll have loads of questions.

  6. It sounds like the soon to arrive, apocalyptic Hero Wars are pretty important. Is there more info about them somewhere? As GM I'd like to prepare for what my PC's are in for.
  7. Are there assassins in Glorantha? It's not a profession option, but that doesn't mean much. The way the cultures break down into tribes, clans, and rely on blood feuds,etc., I'm uncertain wether professional assassins would be a thing. I ask because, if they are, a Game of Thrones "Many-Faced God" type cult would seem a good fit to the world.

  9. Man, so much great advice and info here from everyone! Thanks all! As for my play group, they are very well suited to finding reasons for differing characters to work together. They roleplay grumbling differences of opinion, but would never think of attacking each other's characters. It's looking like it will be: Necromancer (exact origin undecided yet) Duck ranger/scout type Centaur hunter Sartar Lhankor Mhy initiate
  10. The templates don't seem to have an equal point spread that I can figure out. Should I not worry about that as long as they don't have more than what's presented?

  12. Sometimes I worry that I made a mistake with my RQG purchase, because of my complete lack of knowledge of the setting, but posts like this make me glad I did. I was looking for something different than D&D type fantasy, and this seems to be it.

  14. One of my other players suggested Odayla, what do you think that choice? There's not a ton of info in the Core.
  15. These are great points, and answer the question my wife and I were discussing just yesterday as to why Necromancy seems mostly absent in the Core rules. It will be fun to explore those things in game.
  16. I've run a LOT of games, but I still totally appreciate the advice because each game is very different. Some you can make your own stuff or tweak the PC's and it doesn't matter, some ruin the entire mechanics if you mess with them.

  18. Foundchild looks like a pretty good choice, as the player wants to make a centaur hunter.
  19. Since Ty Kora Tek doesn't seem to appear in the rules yet, I'll probably make a sub-cult of Maran Gor. There aren't any guidelines for cults, and they don't seem to have similar "points" spent in each area, so I'll probably just use a combination of Zorak and Maran.
  20. Would the elf religion be suitable then? Or do they not belong to a cult?
  21. The Bestiary says the centaurs worship Arachne but she's not available in the book. Any suggestions for what religions the centaur PC can belong to?

  23. Thanks man, this is what I was looking for. From reading the material so far it felt like this was the way the world worked, but I'm too new to be sure. I'm thinking maybe a necromantic cult that is an aspect/relative of the fertility cult existing in the Necropolis.
  24. The Zorak Zorn cult itself doesn't really suit what we are looking for (being a troll berzerker cult or something), but those spells are exactly what I was thinking of transferring to a new cult. Maybe a necromancy sect of an existing cult?
  25. How many cults are there in Glorantha? Enough to justify reskinning a cult (or creating a new one) to fit what a player is looking for? (In this case a Necromantic cult)
