QuestWorld Classic pdf?

As a recent convert to RuneQuest I’d like to complete my collection of RuneQuest 2 material so second this. I know it’s not set in Glorantha (from what I’ve been able to gather from comments on here and reading about it but it still sounds interesting. Also I’d really like to see Thieves World even if it is just started for RuneQuest (in case there are licensing issues with other publishers).

Realize that this fell short in the Kickstarter, but aside from Foes and Fangs this is about all that’s left to have the entire line scanned and made available. Any chance this could happen?

Thanks, Scott

Fangs is available as a free PDF off the RuneQuest classic page. You can grab it here https://www.chaosium.com/content/FreePDFs/RuneQuest/Classic/CHA4002- FANGS - Monster Stats.pdf

Sadly not in print though.

Fangs is a poor scan though. It’s not the same quality as the recent Classic RuneQuest titles, and I’m assuming the Classic Cthulhu titles being kickstarted.

I knew Fangs existed and had the PDF downloaded but hadn't looked through it previously. As far as scans go it seems pretty decent quality but I hadn't seen what exactly the content looked like, presuming Foes is just like this I 100% see why Chaosium chose not to even include this as a stretch goal in the Kickstarter. As I have idiot brain I would still quite like a POD copy (I have rationalised my purchasing of RuneQuest and Cthulhu Classic by amending my no old editions rules to only old edition reprints/POD) just to complete the set but the voice is fairly quiet so it should be easy to repress with a minimum of sanity damage.

It might. While FANGS is available as a scanned and cleaned up PDF, I don't think I would classify it as "poor". I apologize for disappointing you with that free PDF.

Here are some screenshots of various pdfs I've purchased from Chaosium at 200%. One is taken from one of the Foes books and it is all right. Fangs looks fuzzy at that magnification, but in comparison it isn't as bad. It really suffers in comparison to the next shot taken from another item in the resource pack. The font scales up very nicely at 200% and it showcases the brilliant work that was done in getting these files converted. It's not just scanning and OCR. There's a lot of hard work in fixing each of these files. Decisions have to be made as to how they are paginated and presented as well. Does the back cover stay in the back? Years back I bought 2nd edition Call of Cthulhu from Drivethru and it had a blank page after every page of the map. Do you put a blank page in to preserve pagination and to keep facing pages intact? Some of the files do this and others do not. The Cthulhu file looks great and is probably a precursor of what is to come. However, the other file is scanned and OCRed without having the same level of care and detail. Of course, that care and detail take a lot of time. I try to award that care and detail by purchasing these files directly from Chaosium. My guess is that Cthulhu has gotten this love and attention the past couple of years, and I suspect that Pendragon (1st Edition and Companion?) may get that same type of attention in the years to come. At my age I am reading even more pdfs because I can increase the size of the print to make up for having weak eyes.
