rustorod Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 I'm getting ready to run a small adventure with my daughters and a couple of their friends. I was wondering if the characters from Classic Fantasy would be an option for them to choose from as a profession, along with the one detailed in RQ6? We will be running around The Known World "Mystarra", and eventually going through a few of my classic AD&D and D&D modules. I'm relatively new to RQ/BRP, I've played Stormbringer a few times in the past. I'm just wondering if it conflict with the mechanics of RQ or the CF characters would be a bit more advanced than the RQ characters? Thanks. Mike Quote
threedeesix Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Hi Mike, Sorry, I just noticed this thread down in the RQ section or I would have commented sooner. Are you asking if characters created using the "Class" system from Classic Fantasy would be balanced with ones created using RQ6? If so I would have to say no, as Classic Fantasy is less gritty and tends to produce more powerful characters right out of the gate. Plus they have "class abilities" designed to represent their D&D counterparts which can make them pretty powerful. However at the end of the character creation chapter I note how to use professions instead of classes and they may be more suited to a RQ6 adventure. If I answered your question then awesome, however if I misunderstood please let me know and we can try again. rustorod Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Thanks Rod you answered it. I just wanted to be to run old school characters. I have a much stronger D&D and AD&D background, very light with RQ/BRP systems (minus a few session of Stormbringer in the past). I like using the old TSR modules, had a good time with Keep on the Border lands with CF. Thanks. Mike Quote
