Agentorange Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Completely off topic I know, but veteran science fiction author Arthur C Clarke died last week ( tuesday I think ) aged 90. I thought I'd mention it as lots of folk here seem to like SF ( including me ). Quote
rust Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Yes, it was very sad news indeed. I will miss him, he was one of the great authors of the kind of Hard SF I prefer, and his books and his interest in space and in the oceans have sparked the water world setting I am cur- rently working on - one of the NPCs, the founder of the colony there, was influenced by my view of Clarke ... ;-( Quote "Mind like parachute, function only when open." Simlasa Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Hmmm... I thought he had been dead for years... I can't say I've ever read anything by him... but still recognize the passing of greatness. Quote
