flynnkd
Daredevil allows you to remains standing after an evade. But there is nothing linked to how good you are at this, no skill roll, you just get it. Do other people add in skill tests for something like this, what do you use? The Style % or some other value (athletics).
p_clapham
I had no idea you had to drop to the ground as a result of a evade. I thought use of the skill allowed you to keep standing.

The Style % or some other value (athletics). There isn't meant to be a skill roll attached to it. If you use Evade to throw yourself out of the way of a missile or incoming weapon strike, you ordinarily end-up prone. The whole idea of the Daredevil trait is to simulate those nimble swashbucklers who can throw themselves out of harm's way, execute a nimble forward roll, and come-up swaggering and posing with a heroic profile. Attaching a skill roll to the Daredevil trait would negate its intention. Of course, if you don't want such cinematic heroics, then you don't have to allow the trait to be attached to a combat style at all. In a normal combat situation, where an Evade roll would normally leave you prone, you can spend an Action Point to regain your footing. The Acrobatics skill can also be used as a substitute for Evade and, in those situations where you'd be prone, Acrobatics lets you automatically regain your footing. It depends on the circumstances. If you're using Evade to get out of the way of a weapon that would otherwise hit you - like a ranged attack (which can only be parried with a shield), then you do end-up prone. If using it to close ground or get inside an opponent's weapon range, then you remain standing. Magister Ludi
I think the confusion comes from the fact that Evade is used both for a skill and a combat action. The German RuneQuest wll amend that by using different terms.
