The Saxons vs Vikings theme works, as does the idea that there are good and bad people on both sides, if you know where to look. My Nordic Girlfriend laughed when the young Saxon boy became a strapping Danish lad, saying that it's the Tar shampoo they use up here...Turns even the weediest English boys into sexy Nordic warriors...
