  1. Just ran my first oneshot of The Troubleshooters - the demo scenario "Escape from Mt. Blanc" - for my wife and two of our friends. It was the first proper time I ever ran a game form "peers". All nearly newbies (myself included). We had a blast! The mechanics with story-points etc. and the campy/funny comic book world was a great way to ease a new group into roleplaying. They did great - even though Harry Fitzroy had to throw a flare in for confusion at a certain point, to save Paul Marchand.
  2. I recently found out about this game. Completely lost it to the concept and artwork. It looks gorgeous in every way! Looking very much forward to this game, and to my new BRP book set to arrive tomorrow. Now on to make some Umberto Eco-style adventures with BRP 😄
  3. I found BRP via The Troubleshooters, a Swedish made TTRPG by Helmgast, that is based on European comics like Tintin, Spirou, Yoko Tsuno, Blake & Mortimer etc. It also runs with percentages and skills and D100, and even though I haven't played a session yet, I fell for the system while reading the core rulebook. Which in turn got me into BRP and CoC. I was wondering if anybody here knew and/or had tried to play a session or campaign of The Troubleshooters. If so, what did you end up doing, and did you have fun?
  4. Many thanks. I am sorry, I should have specified that I'm Danish. It's just the game I fell for: The Troubleshooters, that is Swedish. Thanks for the welcomes and the tips either way!
  5. Hello everyone I'm Øjvind. Always been fascinated by TTRPGs, but never had a chance to play. Finally went ahead a year ago and bought at age 32: The Troubleshooters by Swedish Helmgast. Turns out that game (based on franco-belgian comics like Tintin & Spirou) was BRP related, and after reading trough it, and also after buying DnD and reading the DnD starter pack - because that's what everyone seemed to be familiar with - I found myself much more in love with the BRP system. It's easy to understand the basics, and the way Chaosium welcomes one into the hobby through the solo adventure in the starter-set is great. I'm still working on finding a group to play pulpy adventure stories with, but in the meantime I have a bunch of BRP & CoC materials to read and study so I can GM.
