The 2023 edition of the Jonstown Compendium Catalogue is now available at DriveThruRPG! Community ambassador Nick Brooke's comprehensive catalogue details every supplement published in the first four years of Chaosium's community content programme for RuneQuest and Glorantha. If you're a gamer in Glorantha this is an invaluable resource! Featuring all 349 Jonstown Compendium releases through to December 2023, the book is divided into nine categories with titles ranked by sales. Three Where in the World? maps show product locations (where they can be pinned down), and there are notes on when each scenario and campaign is set, by year and season, including all official Chaosium RuneQuest scenarios too. Appendices include notes for creators and best-seller charts, and a selection of fascinating bar-charts showing the growth of the programme. Jonstown Compendium Catalogue [2023] Nick Brooke ($3.50, 205 page PDF, 6x9 inch paperback version coming soon) This book merges the 2022 JC Catalogue with the 2023 JC Index to present every release up to the end of December 2023, divided into nine categories: RuneQuest (scenarios), Glorantha (sourcebooks), QuestWorlds, Monsters of the Month, Virtual Tabletop Tokens, Cartography & Battle-Maps, Artpacks & Stock Art, Shorter Works, and Play Aids & Random Stuff. Detailed listings analyse content (pages split between scenario, stats, maps, etc.), calculate the price per page of content (excluding front matter, blank pages, etc.), and summarise key details about each title.

Chaosium mourns the passing of games industry luminary Bryan Ansell, who died on December 30th 2023. Bryan was founder of Citadel Miniatures and a former Managing Director of Games Workshop. Bryan will be rightly remembered as a titan in the miniature wargames hobby, helping transform Games Workshop into the industry-leading global company that it is today. In his role as General Manager, Bryan was also instrumental in bringing licensed editions of Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest and Stormbringer, plus Paranoia, to the UK market in the mid-1980s. These beautifully illustrated Games Workshop editions were highly successful, and did much to build the huge fanbase for Chaosium games that exists to this day in the United Kingdom and Europe. Mike Mason, who previously worked at Games Workshop before joining Chaosium, said, "Bryan’s vision and love of miniatures and games was a passion. This passion was passed onto many gamers in the UK who look back fondly on the GW editions of Call of Cthulhu, RuneQuest, and others. We owe a massive debt of gratitude to Bryan for helping to feed our youthful gaming passions.” Our condolences go to Bryan's family and friends.

Feeling pleased to have completed a new piece of Gloranthan fiction, 'Jaxarte in Boldhome'. You'll see this in the new edition of A Rough Guide to Boldhome, to be released with the triumphant return of the Home of the Bold freeform at Chaosium Con next April. In this tale our hapless protagonist encounters foul-mouthed porters, a killer robot (or is it?), the assorted varieties of Dwarven canned meat, and the secrets of Mostali parquetry (hint: needs plenty of roughage). It's not 2024, but I'm making an early resolution to ensure I have more time for creative work next year, as writing this tale was fun! We're hard at work with editing and post production on the six episodes of Graveyards of Arkham, and look forward announcing the premiere date early in the new year! Meanwhile, backers of the Kickstarter have been asked write their epitaphs and pick out their plots in the Old Arkham Graveyard, as displayed in the magnificent map created by our friends at the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society. nb we've had lots of requests from people who missed out during the Kickstarter but would now like a plot in the Old Arkham Graveyard too. We're looking into that, but we're sorting out all the existing pledges first!
