  1. There’s regular ducks too, as in water fowl.
See Guide to Glorantha p. 284

    Spoiler

Hsin Yin (large city): Here lived Godunya for almost a century, unrecognized as Emperor in his disguise as a belt buckle salesman. Because of the Emperor's connection with the place, every boy born here receives two bushels of rice and three large fish upon birth, and every girl born here receives three bushels of rice, a chicken, and two ducks upon her first birthday.

  2. Yinkin is alynxes, not smilodons or lions, etc., and all the Orlanthi cats are alynxes, from mousers to coursers.

When I ran the Sheep of Luck heroquest in 13th Age Glorantha the fight with creatures of Fralar was a mix of Beast rune & Spirit rune foes with tokens lifted from the Ice Age movies. 😉

  3. The Hippogriffs are the Pegasus that the Plateau is named after, because Horse used to be King Hippogriff.
The Book of Heortling Mythology p.100 says

    Quote

But Elmal, who had been with the Fire Tribe, recognized King Hippogriff with his wings torn off, his claws cut off and his fangs ripped from his mouth. Elmal approached the beast and whispered in his ear. “I will make the thanes consider you the noblest among beasts, ban those on the tula from eating your flesh or using you as a beast of burden, protect you and your kin against those who might seek to harm you, and feed you in the winter if you will bear me on your back when I ride on patrol around the tula, and pull my chariot to war.” The beast agreed to the bargain and Elmal healed him, built him a stable, and gave him his new name Horse. Ever after Elmal was known as Horsefriend.

  4. The Hyaloring become the Triarchy of Runegate. The Narri clan at Horse Town, the Enhyli clan at Ostor Colymar, the Lonisi clan (destroyed & replaced by the Taraling clan).
I’d agree that Benstbel is probably from Horse Town and the Narri clan.
(Why, yes, I run games out of Runegate and the Narri clan all the time.)

  5. There are Chaos snakes, yes. RQ2 p. 98:

    Spoiler

While there are a number of the usual garden-variety snakes in Glorantha, one faction of the snake family was heavily influenced by Chaos during the great battle of Darkness against Chaos during the Gods War. Since then, strange sorts of belly crawling types have sprung up in ruins and waterways.

I can’t search my Dorastor book like my PDFs, but it wouldn’t surprise me to find Chaos snake men there. Most folk might call them snake broos until proven otherwise.

  6. There's already a RuneQuest: Glorantha character sheet, so there's no reason not to play it right now. I haven't yet, because I'm running 13th Age Glorantha right now. I make tokens & maps from the RQ:G PDFs I own using TokenTool 2. I made Glorantha runes for Token Marker upload already, you can find them on this site. The top-down tokens available on Jonstown Compendium are excellent too.

I recall that one of the players in my 13th Age Glorantha game is running RQ:G right now too.

  7. Glorantha has the Kolating shamans still, Kolat is Orlanth’s oldest brother.
There’s an Earth witch in Pegasus Plateau, the Crimson Petals adventure.
Jakaleel the Witch was once a shaman-priestess of dark powers in the mountains of Jord.
So I think it’s safe to assume there’s elemental shamans for all the elemental runes.
