  1. Jean M. Auel is obviously one of the sources, as the Earth's Children series is very atmospheric.

However, the Land of Ice and Stone differs in many respects from the Earth's Children.

Which "drivel" did you mean, specifically?

AFAIK research and anthropological speculation for the books were thorough, so there's no reason not to use them as sources of information or ideas. The frequent scenes of makin' whoopee and looking for herbs get tedious, though.

  2. Talking about cojones is it my imagination or did you once call RPGPundit a "borderline sociopath" on RPG.net? It takes grande cojones to say such a thing about a crazy cult leader, with lots of lackeys, on a site that is well known for its sensitive moderators. I remember rolling  on the floor laughing when I read it.

The worst that could happen is you get banned, which I don't think you need to be worried about since the mods are only sensitive to such a statement when it conflicts with their own opinion.

  3. Call of Cthulhu rivals Basic Role-Playing (the "Big Gold Book") in size even though the actual game mechanics take up only a fraction of its length. Including the "Call of Cthulhu" short story is a useful introduction to the genre, but as I've said previously, sometimes less is more. ;D

Not to mention some of the rules details are all over the place. Fortunately, CoC 7E significantly improves on this.

Ha ha - well, up to now, it hasn't, beyond me making a big pile of all my books on the era/region.

I've been busy writing all the KS stuff for P&D and bringing out my new OneDice system and settings. I'm at the stage where I have actually cleared the decks - next week I'll finish OneDice Fantasy (the 6th book of the series), then I'm probably going to take a stroll back to D100/Renaissance... I'm not promising anything (I have a few other options on the table to consider), but I'll probably start slinging together some story-boarding/structure plans.

I understand, I was just pulling your leg. Not that it wouldn't be extremely awesomely cool, of course. ;)

But of course you should work on what needs to be done or what you feel most like working on. I'm really looking forward to what else you have in store for P&D!

In the mean time, I'll just leave this here...

  5. Awesome! The more I think on it, the more I'd like to play it. I'd have probably gone for straight historical, but adding some magic and horror would be very interesting. I've read around the political history, now I might start searching out some folk tales...

So, how's this coming along, then? ;)
