@tauther: I mailed an errata for that to D101 Games when I received the test proof pdf from the Kickstarter, but apparently it did not get fixed...

Jean M. Auel is obviously one of the sources, as the Earth's Children series is very atmospheric.
However, the Land of Ice and Stone differs in many respects from the Earth's Children.
Which "drivel" did you mean, specifically?
AFAIK research and anthropological speculation for the books were thorough, so there's no reason not to use them as sources of information or ideas. The frequent scenes of makin' whoopee and looking for herbs get tedious, though.
-
As long as it steers clear of the Jean M. Auel kind of drivel this might be neat.

Talking about cojones is it my imagination or did you once call RPGPundit a "borderline sociopath" on RPG.net? It takes grande cojones to say such a thing about a crazy cult leader, with lots of lackeys, on a site that is well known for its sensitive moderators. I remember rolling on the floor laughing when I read it.
The worst that could happen is you get banned, which I don't think you need to be worried about since the mods are only sensitive to such a statement when it conflicts with their own opinion.

I ordered both the Steppes book and Celestial Empire. Do I get a free pdf with the Celestial Empire book? It said so on the site, but not on the PayPal receipt.
-
I assume it's worth throwing in a copy of Celestial Empire as well.

With Dark Streets you'd have a 18th century Cthulhu setting for Renaissance, a nice transition from "plain" OpenQuest fantasy to BRP Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green.
-
Have you looked into OpenQuest/Renaissance?
-
Call of Cthulhu rivals Basic Role-Playing (the "Big Gold Book") in size even though the actual game mechanics take up only a fraction of its length. Including the "Call of Cthulhu" short story is a useful introduction to the genre, but as I've said previously, sometimes less is more.
Not to mention some of the rules details are all over the place. Fortunately, CoC 7E significantly improves on this.

Any estimate of when these will reach KS backers on mainland Europe?

Ha ha - well, up to now, it hasn't, beyond me making a big pile of all my books on the era/region.
I've been busy writing all the KS stuff for P&D and bringing out my new OneDice system and settings. I'm at the stage where I have actually cleared the decks - next week I'll finish OneDice Fantasy (the 6th book of the series), then I'm probably going to take a stroll back to D100/Renaissance... I'm not promising anything (I have a few other options on the table to consider), but I'll probably start slinging together some story-boarding/structure plans.
I understand, I was just pulling your leg. Not that it wouldn't be extremely awesomely cool, of course.
But of course you should work on what needs to be done or what you feel most like working on. I'm really looking forward to what else you have in store for P&D!
In the mean time, I'll just leave this here...

Awesome! The more I think on it, the more I'd like to play it. I'd have probably gone for straight historical, but adding some magic and horror would be very interesting. I've read around the political history, now I might start searching out some folk tales...
So, how's this coming along, then?

I think I did get a premium hardback. IIRC the standard hardback had a B&W interior and the book that showed up has a color interior.
It can easily be recognized by its thick, glossy paper. Standard quality POD has thinner, non-glossy paper.
I look forward to receiving mine! IIRC corebook and bestiary are going to be shipped separately for all KS backers, right?
-
Are there errata for the softcover edition available somewhere?
-
As one of the long-suffering "standard hardback" backers, I was truly overjoyed to see my book show up in the mail today! Many thanks to you for your persistence, and to the hard-working folks at Lightning Source and DTRPG! It is a beautiful book and worth the wait!
Did you get a premium hardback?

I'm afraid I have no idea of BRP copyright matters. My hinge would be to inquire with the publishers of the books... Perhaps someone else around here can be of more help?

Noticed this title on a banner at the Chaosium website. Is there anything anyone here can disclose/tell us about this?

I didn't keep a back-up of the email. I did not actually FIX the errata though, I just mentioned the same thing you mentioned: a discrepancy between some of the tables, the text and the examples.
