  1. Actually, work has started on the Rome:Generals and Senators supplement. IndianaKen is doing the writing. We hope to hit the shelves for Christmas.

Now that Pete is freelancing again, we might be willing to publish something by him again. But _after_ he is over with the Gloranthan supplement.

Excellent News !!!! Question... in the future do you think there will be plans for Late Imperial Supplement?

  2. To be honest I hope Pete and Loz do manage to find time in their respective projects to continue to expand the BRP/ "Wayfart" (MRQII had a better ring to it) Eternal Champion Line. Peter if you are out there " Achilles and Hector are waiting as well as a pantheon of other hero's of the Hellens".

  3. Twrch Trwyth

    Boar

Twrch is named as the son of Prince Tared, cursed into the form of a wild creature; he has poisonous bristles,

Culhwch is given the task by Ysbaddaden Pencawr, the giant whose daughter Olwen Culhwch seeks, of obtaining the comb and scissors from Twrch's head. Further, Ysbaddaden states that the only hound who can hunt Twrch is Drudwyn, the whelp of Greid, and then goes on to list the requirements of the leash to hold Drudwyn, the only man strong enough to hold the leash, &c. Ultimately Ysbaddaden calls on Culhwch to seek out Arthur, Culhwch's cousin, to help him hunt Twrch.

Prior to the hunt, Menw son of Teirgwaedd is sent to verify that the comb and scissors are between Twrch's ears. He takes the form of a bird and flies to Twrch's lair, encountering the boar with seven piglets. Menw then tries to swoop down and snatch one of the implements from Twrch's scalp, but only manages to take one silver bristle; Twrch is agitated and shakes himself, scattering venom onto Menw, wounding him.

The hunt for Twrch takes up the greater portion of the latter half of Culhwch and Olwen, and it is described in great detail the geographical route of the pursuit, and those who take active part in it. Although it is Culhwch who is given the task, it is Arthur and his men who take the most prominent role in the chase, Culhwch having successfully enlisted his aid.

    Combat Notes

The gore of a Twrch Trwyth’s tusks is ferocious and it can both Sunder and Impale, although these manoeuvres are applied only if the boar strikes for a critical success. Otherwise the boar uses Bash as its primary Combat Manoeuvre.

I am still trying to interpret the poison bristles of his hide. I used a horse for the size and power template.

  4. The Lion Gate at Mycenae must have been something.... for me it would have been standing at Hissarlik/Troy. The old Micheal Wood " In search of the Torjan War" still captivates me even through the data is old and they have found the rest of the city on the plane below.

What with the big news release that RQ and Mongoose are going their separate ways, the time has come to announce that I too have resigned from Mongoose. Its been a hectic few years, but very educational.

Many thanks to all those who appreciated the hard work Loz and I placed into the revised MRQ2 rules. Indeed your glowing reviews and continuing support of our books have encouraged us to work above and beyond the modest gratuity we received. I have been especially pleased by the general congeniality of these forums and hope that you'll continue to help one another in the future.

However, as time moves on my interests meander and head-hunting offers become increasingly difficult to resist. I already have a few projects waiting in line so I shall still continue to write RPGs, but those waiting for an Ancient Greece source book might have to wait a while longer. Wink

So without whittering on any longer, I bid you all adieu. Take care and keep on playing!

  6. I had a back and forth going on with him this weekend about the "sterling products" Mongoose produces. I knew something was up with how and what he was asking. And Glorantha is Loz's first taskings.... he did make the comment he would still work with Mongoose on the EC line...sounds like a dead product line again.
