  1. The fact that the two editions back out honestly it makes me Very happy. I see the fact that there is a demand and the game has not perished. While I am not a fan of Mongoose ( I can't really explain why.... considering the number of products with their stamp on my hard drive I guess I am A hypocrite, I suppose I should be grateful for resurrecting the RQ/ Traveller and Stormbringer - my favorite Trio of RPGS). I would like to think that eventually the old games may make a comeback.... my favorite was where the 2d Minis you taped to a penny in the back of the 1st Ed Stormbringer.

  2. I thought summer was to be a low intensity season i am swamped with family, new additions to family and RL nonsense...

In case you guys don't know I am a veterans advocate and I just won a case for a widow: to award the silver star for her husband. I volunteer my time to go before the ABCMR (Army Board for Correction of Military Records) Also I belong to the Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans and Military Order of Stars and Bars. Currently I am in the second year of preping the Confederate Medal of Honor recommendation for a Lt.Col Alanzo Dargan of the 21st South Carolina Infantry who was killed at the battle of swift creek rallying his regiment by advancing with the regimental colors in a brigade attack. His actions allowed the Brigade to follow throough and extract the 11th South Carolinia for a precariious tactical position. Lots of research.

If you are a Traveller Fan I just had an article published in Freelance Traveller Fanzine on Zhodani Commandos. I have my thumbs in many pies.

  3. Just to give everyone a heads up I am attempting just get a group of gamers together for weekly ( weekend ) gaming. I can play from usually 8 pm EST to 2-3 EST ( GMT-5)....Saturday or Sunday.

I have the BRP and Classic Traveller rules.

What I would like to do is put together a Young Kingdoms ( ELRIC/Stormbirger Game), I am presently working on the Age of Arthur (Fantasy-Dark age BRP) and classic Traveller. I just pruchased Fantasy Grounds a few days ago and am still learning the kinks of the system. I do have one BRP adventure ready (the one you can get for free)... Next saturday . If you are sencerrly interested let me know by PM.

Please let me know how old ( I am 39 and am looking to play in an adult group). Your BRP preference (RQ Glorthana or Youngkingdoms) or Traveller (I can set up two different days). I may use voice or not depending on who it goes. If you really want to play and need FG let me know ( I am fairly well off and like to play santa claus).

    .

  4. I am going to start working through that

Fantasy Grounds is a virtual tabletop for pen & paper role-playing games. It provides all the tools you need to play your favorite RPG online, including the dice, sheets, tokens, maps, notes, the whole works. 3.5E fantasy rules are supported out of the box, but Fantasy Grounds can be customized and extended to suit almost any RPG. Additional rulesets, token packs, map modules and campaigns can be created and shared with friends.

This package contains the ULTIMATE version of Fantasy Grounds. With it you can:

    * Run games as the Gamemaster

    * Host an unlimited number of unregistered players (limited only by your connection speeds)

    * Host games for registered and unregistered players together.

    * Join games as a player

    * Create characters locally to take with you into a game session

    * Create additional rulesets and modifications

So I have a test platform we can run on now...

  5. workgroup members check the subforum thread.

I have been tied up with the Movie RESTREPO about my unit (173rd Airborne Brigade) in OEF VIII and getting the National Geographic preview in DC coordinated with veterans groups and old comrades. I was in OEF VI the experience was very similar.

  7. I played a ton of Stormbringer in my teenage years. 'Course, I was a total BRP fanboy at the time (still am, in many ways) and SB and RQIII filled most of my fantasy gaming itches. I found that for introducing new players to BRP, Stormbringer was much easier to grasp. The system was much simpler than RQIII, and the setting was less complex than Glorantha.

As I don't post a lot to this forum (something I hope to change) many of you may not know that I'm the same John B. Monroe who designed the magic system for 4th edition SB.

That being said, I've not played any version of SB/Elric in fifteen years or so. But it is a fabulous game.

Love to talk with you some time. thanks for all your work.

  8. Well obviously I'm a big fan of 5th edition and the previous Elric! rules... no surprise really when I run the stormbringerrpg.com site :P

As for the discussion around Elric in your adventures... I'm pretty sure 5th edition is based (as a default) during the first year of Elric's reign, hence he still sits on the Ruby Throne rather than being out and about in the Young Kingdoms.

I am in the middle of drafting an adventure for your site lol... I am waiting to get the map software to make it look good. Glad you popped in here don't let the site flounder!
