  1. Strange things are happening in Louisiana so the Providence investigators head down to see what is causing Cajuns to disappear. They board non-stop train from Boston to New Orleans ... but something is wrong on the train ... 2. A friend of the investigators has made an amazing discovery in the basement of his recently inherited home on Power Street in Providence. He wants them to come with him to document it as it could be a great historical find. When he goes missing, it's up to them to find him. On Aug. 27, the regular 1920s Call of Cthulhu campaign game set in Providence, R.I. continued with "The Darkness Beneath the Hill" from Doors to Darkness. 3. It's 1692 and a strange pall hangs over Port Royal, Jamaica. The primary English colony in the Caribbean is seeing strange times when odd signs appear all over the town. Something is very wrong and can a few pirates and townsfolk figure it out before it's too late, or is the "the wickedest City on Earth" doomed? The role-playing journal for the original Pirate scenario "Lost Port Royal" can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3223-lost-port-royal-part-1-strange-signs/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3222-lost-port-royal-part-2-the-yellow-sign-returns/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3221-lost-port-royal-part-3-the-mad-printer/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3220-lost-port-royal-part-4-the-city-across-the-bay/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3219-lost-port-royal-part-5-lost-carcosa/ Additionally, a playlist of 11 videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDrI1789BO7oPt_e1VpYU_SS” Players were: Ambralyn Tucker as Dr. Merriam Leighlin (physician) Helen Koeval as Sam Fowler (explorer) James Brown as Brün Jeagar (master gunner) Kyle Matheson as Flint Dawson (master gunner) Hannah Gambino as Theophilus Dawson (sailing master) Yorie Latimer as Dean Ackworth Esq. 4. It's time for a return to Elizabethan (well, technically Jacobian) London and the Globe Theater. This time, a stagehand has gone missing from the Globe and his wife demands someone find him. A small group of stagehand, musician, and actor, along with a local physician and banker go in search of the errant Clancy Bottom, only to find themselves drawn into a strange plot that might see the destruction of the Globe itself, if not of all England. The role playing journal for the original Elizabethan Call of Cthulhu scenario Supped Full with Horrors can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3212-supped-full-with-horrors-part-1-the-missing-stagehand/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3211-supped-full-with-horrors-part-2-the-trail-to-islington/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3210-supped-full-with-horrors-part-3-a-strange-meal-and-a-ruined-church/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3209-supped-full-with-horrors-part-4-return-to-the-globe/ Additionally, a playlist of 13 videos and a highlights video of the game session can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDpA3gP8xfjENRQHgh-Ni2mT” Players were: Ambralyn Tucker as Francis Jaimes (Musician) Helen Koeval as John Huddleston (Stage Hand) Kyle Matheson as Vincent Hawksworth (Actor) Collin Townsend as Peter Godfrey (Banker) Ashton LeBlanc as Dr. Everett Whitewood (Physician)

The locals claim vampires have taken over Manteo and most of the island. The role playing journal for the 9th session of the BRP game of Deadword "Roanoke at Last" can be found here: http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/entry.php/1980-Basic-Roleplaying-System-Deadworld-Session-Nine-Roanoke-at-Last Players were: Ambralyn Tucker as Lisa Weiss (writer) Ashton LeBlanc as Manuela “Manny” Rodriquez (mechanic) Collin Townsend as Jonathan Franks (bank teller/criminal)
  6. With the summer comes various one-shots in other eras. This time, a Catholic priest and his guard investigate the disappearance and murder of several children in the Holy Roman Empire in the Dark Ages Anno Domini 998 in "The Vampire of Schwarzbrunn." I ran the scenario from Worlds of Cthulhu Magazine Issue 1 on June 10. The role-playing journal of the game are here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3195-the-vampire-of-schwarzbrunn-part-1-sent-by-the-church/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3194-the-vampire-of-schwarzbrunn-part-2-nights-of-terror/ Additionally, a playlist of nine videos (and soon a short highlights video) of the game session is here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDp9QKnEqmLSH8z4svQaALaa” Players were: Ashton Leblanc as Father Weißwald (Catholic Priest) Collin Townsend as Adalbert (Guard)

They soon find themselves driving through the wilds of Minnesota ... until their motorcar hits something in the road ... On April 30, I ran the scenario "Roadkill" from Unspeakable Oath Magazine Issue 12 as part of the regular 1928 campaign of Call of Cthulhu. The role-playing journals of the game are here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3183-roadkill-part-1-in-search-of-the-black-book/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3182-roadkill-part-2-two-madmen/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3181-roadkill-part-3-the-house-of-death/ Additionally, a playlist of eight videos and a highlights video of the game can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDrZDlwxAqL7iZZekaHBn3qu” Players were: Helen Koeval as Dr. Allison Blake (Professor) Ben Abbott as Angelo "Zippy" Giovanni (Uniformed Police Officer) Katelyn Hogan as Nurse Abigail Daughton (Nurse)
  8. When word comes from a former associate of a strange death in Iowa, a few of the Providence investigators go to see what might have happened. They are soon met with a village in the grip of terror and a cult. On April 23, I ran another scenario for my regular Providence campaign taking place in 1928. This time it was "Dark Harvest" by Kevin A. Ross from Resurrected III: From the Vault. The role playing journals of the game are here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3180-dark-harvest-part-1-a-strange-death-in-iowa/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3179-dark-harvest-part-2-the-things-in-the-woods/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3178-dark-harvest-part-3-oak-valley-blood-bath/ Additionally, a playlist of 14 (Yes 14. 9. Only a week or so after dealing with the strange events of the wine and the circle of friends, several people from Providence, R.I., have some chocolates given to them by their friend Robert Ramsden. They find themselves transported to the Dreamlands ... On April 9, I ran a Dreamlands game (for Call of Cthulhu) for my regular Providence campaign taking place in 1928. This time we played "To Sleep, Perchance to Dream" and "Lemon Sails," two short scenarios from the Dreamlands book. The role playing journals of the game session can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3176-to-sleep-perchance-to-dream-lemon-sails-part-1-dreamlands/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3175-to-sleep-perchance-to-dream-lemon-sails-part-2-ulthar/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3174-to-sleep-perchance-to-dream-lemon-sails-part-3-lemon-sails/ Additionally, a playlist of seven videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDr8abcRbBYzW4yd1olNQHtw” Players were: Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) Ashton LeBlanc as Evelyn Fairfield (Photojournalist) Kyle Matheson as Willie "Skinny Leg" Ferguson (Charter Boat Captain) James Brown as Frank Fontain (Occultist) Ambralyn Tucker as Milo James (Alienist) Katelyn Hogan as Suzanna Edington (Dilettante)
  10. In November 1971, a group of people boarded a Learjet bound for Kansas City, Missouri, for a seminar, having been sent by the company they worked for. Unfortunately, this was no simple flight, but a trip into the unknown that would leave all of them terrified of the Fear Jet. On April 1, I ran a one-shot Call of Cthulhu scenario for NerdCon 2017 at Appalachian State University. The premise was a group of people who work together were taking a Learjet to a seminar when something interfered. The role-playing journals for the game session can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3171-fear-jet-part-1-night-flight/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3170-fear-jet-part-2-strange-landing/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3169-fear-jet-part-3-final-flight/ Additionally, a playlist of six videos of the game session and a short highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDoyPv1rm_ns8OfPy1Zk_MFM” A couple of players had to leave during the game but were later replaced by two new people who came in so a couple of the characters ended up with two players. Players were: Alexander Lawson as Morty Finch (Clerk) Alexander Rogers as Melvin Bell (Accountant) Carl Cordini as Darryl Jefferson (Security Guard) Bay Shuford as Anne Simmons (Switchboard Operator/Receptionist) George Ekholm and Danielle Brown as Trevor Stevens (Middle Management Businessman) Ambralyn Tucker and Drake Powell as Denise Thompson (Secretary)
  11. It's been about a month since the terrible events of the Dark Carnival in Providence, R.I., when Miss Edington gets a visit from a pharmacist trying to sell her a very strange bottle of red wine. On March 26, I ran a short scenario for my regular Call of Cthulhu group as part of my regular Providence campaign taking place in 1928. This time it was Circle of Friends from the Minions book. The role-playing journal of the game session can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3165-circle-of-friends-part-1-the-thing-in-the-bottle/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3164-circle-of-friends-part-2-prohibition-underworld/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3163-circle-of-friends-part-3-confronting-the-cultists/ Additionally, a playlist of seven videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDoVN9Y5MdnykFVQ7yuxyKCD” Players were: Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) Ambralyn Tucker as Milo James (Alienist) Katelyn Hogan as Suzanna Edington (dilettante)
  12. On June 23, 2017, a massive evacuation of the eastern seaboard of the United States created a great deal of havoc as some kind of toxic substance was released, allegedly by the Russians, that caused people to sicken and then die, then rise from the dead and try to kill and eat the living. This is the story of how a few civilians in Boone, N.C., managed to escape that terrible day. On March 5, 2017, my friend Kyle Matheson ran a modern day Basic Roleplaying System game for our regular Deadworld session. He ran this as a one-shot but we may return to Kyle's Deadworld campaign in the future. The role playing journals for the game session can be found here: http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/entry.php/1979-Basic-Roleplaying-System-Kyles-Deadworld-One-Shot-Escape-from-Boone Players were (in order of appearance): Hannah Gambino as Daryl Green (Hunter) Ashton LeBlanc as Daryl Greene (Hunter) Myself as Mervin "Ace" Terwilliger (Pilot) Katie Gallant as Roger "Maverick" Stanfield (Pilot) James Brown as Josh Hardy (Artist) Collin Townsend as Hobo Joe Johnson (Begger/Hobo) Yorie Latimer as Salama Pollo/Jake Miller (Shaman) Katelyn Hogan as Matthew White (Athlete) Ambralyn Tucker as Denise "Danny" Valerie Abbott (Mechanic)
  13. With proof of the carnival's misdeeds, Providence Police could finally orchestrate a raid to remove the criminal elements of the place. Allied with the Providence County Sheriff's Department, Pawtucket Police, and the Rhode Island State Police, a daring raid was set for the early morning hours of the very next day. Several of the investigators who had helped save the two kidnap victims were brought along to advise police, but a force of over 100 men was set to raid the carnival and bring it down. On February 26, 2017, I ran the sixth and final session of Dark Carnival by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians as part of the regular Providence, R.I. campaign taking place in 1928. Each of the players rolled up an additional Providence Police Officer, Pawtucket Police Officer, and Providence County Sheriff's Deputy to use for the raid. The role playing-journals of the game can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3154-dark-carnival-session-six-police-raid-part-1-the-attack/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3153-dark-carnival-session-six-police-raid-part-2-the-caverns/ Additionally, a playlist of seven videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDqmhpbUoxmxfEam_BvDWV7b” Players were: Collin Townsend as Nigel Bricker (Mechanic) and Butch Mahoney (Providence Police Officer) and Thomas Abernathy (Providence County Sheriff's Deputy) and Clayton Jones (Pawtucket Police Officer) Ashton LeBlanc as Evelyn Fairfield (Photojournalist) and Paul Baker (Providence Police Officer) and Kenneth James Gyles III (Providence County Sheriff's Deputy) and Howard Fletcher (Pawtucket Police Officer) Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) and Angelo Giovanni (Providence Police Officer) and Langston Majors (Providence County Sheriff's Deputy) and Stephan Strovinski (Pawtucket Police Officer) Ambralyn Tucker as Milo James (Alienist) and Abraham Randolph (Providence Police Officer) and Billy Jameson (Providence County Sheriff's Deputy) and Calhoun McTavish (Pawtucket Police Officer)
  14. More of the investigators join the group once again and continue their investigation of the dark carnival, this time heading into the nearby city dump, where strange things have happened, before once again entering the crypt of the ghouls to seek out the missing people. On February 19, 2017, I ran the fifth session of Dark Carnival by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians as part of the regular Providence, R.I. campaign taking place in 1928. The role playing-journals of the game can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3150-dark-carnival-session-five-part-1-added-complications/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3149-dark-carnival-session-five-part-2-return-to-the-crypt/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3148-dark-carnival-session-five-part-3-rescue/ Additionally, a playlist of eight videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDoc21E-PVnWIncVNM2FEvlo” Players were: Kyle Matheson as Dr. Sir Carl Huxtable (Professor) Hannah Gambino as Ramsey Sanderson (Federal Agent) Ashton LeBlanc as Evelyn Fairfield (Photojournalist) Collin Townsend as Nigel Bricker (Mechanic) Ambralyn Tucker as Milo James (Alienist) Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) Yorie Latimer as Joseph Johnson (Marine) Joey Scott as Father Owen McConnell (Catholic Priest) Katelyn Hogan as Suzanna Edington (Dilettante)
  15. Once more into the breech! After some planning, some of the investigators head back to the North Star Amusement Arcade and Pleasure Pier, determined to uncover the secrets of the place and put an end to the terrible things happening there. What they find beneath the carnival, again, is not pleasant. On February 12, 2017, I ran the fourth session of Dark Carnival by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians as part of the regular Providence, R.I. campaign taking place in 1928. The role playing-journals of the game can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3145-dark-carnival-session-four-part-1-plots-and-plans/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3144-dark-carnival-session-four-part-2-night-at-the-carnival/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3143-dark-carnival-session-four-part-3-dinner-with-ghouls/ Additionally, a playlist of nine videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDqUGpB-zI9QconoUwhS4_KY” Players were: Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) Ashton LeBlanc as Evelyn Fairfield (Photojournalist) Collin Townsend as Nigel Bricker (Mechanic) Joey Scott as Father Owen McConnell (Catholic Priest) Yorie Latimer as Joseph Johnson (Marine)
  16. Having failed to find more than strangeness at the North Star Amusement Arcade and Pleasure Pier, our intrepid investigators began to look through Swan Point Cemetery in the hopes it will lead them to the kidnapped child and woman. They soon find more than they bargained for. On February 5, 2017, I ran the third session of Dark Carnival by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians. Part of the regular Providence, R.I., campaign, it took place in 1928. The role-playing journals of the game session are here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3140-dark-carnival-session-three-part-1-searching-swan-point-cemetery/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3139-dark-carnival-session-three-part-2-under-the-carnival/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3138-dark-carnival-session-three-part-3-dead-men-and-dead-eaters/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3137-dark-carnival-session-three-part-4-flight/ Additionally, a playlist of eight videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: “https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDpBPXpJbxv7LMkBTjdTyqzC” Players were: Kyle Matheson as Dr. Sir Carl Huxtable (Professor) Yorie Latimer as Joseph Johnson (Marine) Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) Ambralyn Tucker as Milo James (alienist) Katie Gallant as Jake Wessen (Private Investigator) Collin Townsend as Nigel Bricker (Mechanic) James Brown as Robert Ingerton (Con Man) Joey Scott as Father Owen McConnell (Catholic Priest) Katelyn Hogan as Suzanna Edington (Dilettante)
  17. Our intrepid investigators return to the North Star Amusement Arcade and Pleasure Pier to continue their investigation of two missing people and a mauled man, this time with reinforcements. They learn only a little about the carnival, but see some strange things. On Jan. 29, 2017, I ran the second session of Dark Carnival by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians. Part of the regular Providence Campaign, it took place in 1928. The role-playing journals of the game session are here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3135-dark-carnival-session-two-part-1-back-to-the-carnival/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3134-dark-carnival-session-two-part-2-strange-smells-and-slime/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3133-dark-carnival-session-two-part-3-madam-zarah-and-dark-magic/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3132-dark-carnival-session-two-part-4-theft/ Additionally, a playlist of nine videos and a highlights video can be found here: "https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDonoSED7gGNBCLw67Fjtg7B" Players were: Collin Townsend as Nigel Bricker (Mechanic) Ashton LeBlanc as Evelyn Fairfield (Photojournalist) Kyle Matheson and Dr. Sir Carl Huxtable (professor) Camilla Ekker-Runde as Yoosung (student) Hannah Gambino as Ramsey Sanderson (federal agent) Ben Abbott as Joell Johnson (Union Activist) Ambralyn Tucker as Milo James (alienist) Katelyn Hogan as Suzanna Edington (Dilettante)
  18. When a man is mauled, his arm ripped off, and a woman goes missing near the North Star Amusement Arcade and Pleasure Pier between Providence and Pawtucket, it proves of interest to those who investigate the strange. The investigators get together to see if there is something going on at the carnival. On January 22, 2017, I began Dark Carnival by David A. Hargrave from Curse of the Chthonians. This was part of the regular campaign, taking place in May 1928. The role playing journals for the game session can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3129-dark-carnival-session-one-part-1-mangled-man-and-missing-woman/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3128-dark-carnival-session-one-part-2-exploring-the-park/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3127-dark-carnival-session-one-part-3-madam-zarah-and-a-missing-child/ Additionally, a playlist of nine videos and a highlights video of the game session can be found here: "https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDq3BeMy7blPFNIYgtYFgnZ6" Players were: Collin Townsend as Nigel Bricker (Mechanic) Ashton LeBlanc as Evelyn Fairfield (Photojournalist) James Brown as Robert Ingerton (Con Man) Ben Abbott as Joel Johnson (Union Activist) Katelyn Hogan as Suzanna Edington (Dilettante)
  19. It's Christmas and the family is all going to visit Great Aunt Norma in Kingsport. That doesn't make for a wonderful Christmas for six cousins between the ages of 11 and 13, but maybe Cousin Melba can still save this Christmas. On December 11, I ran a one-shot Call of Cthulhu scenario "Christmas in Kingsport" by Oscar Rios. In it, the players take the parts of children at Christmas with a little surprise. The role playing journals for the game can be found here: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3120-christmas-in-kingsport-part-1-kingsport-and-a-party/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3119-christmas-in-kingsport-part-2-kidnapping/ http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/172/entry-3118-christmas-in-kingsport-part-3-lord-of-the-krampus/ Additionally, six videos of the game session and a highlights video can be found here: "https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLonZ7fuFAFDqQJ_zAqmketbBaoo6H_-Zj" Players were: Ashton LeBlanc as Gertrude "Gerdi" Pope (age 11) Collin Townsend as Gordon Brewster (age 12)
  20. You also might want to try meetup.com. You plug in your interests (tabletop rpgs or Call of Cthulhu) and your zip code and it allows to find groups in your area. When I moved to Raleigh in 2009, I found a group that had about 150 people in it. They were up to over 300 by the time I left a year and a half later and presently have 1200 members of the group. People can set up games and put out general invitations to group members, who sign up and come play the games. I don't know if there'll be any groups in your area but it can't help to look.
  21. The zombie apocalypse game entitled "Deadworld" continues with the eighth session. Having finally made it to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the group heads for Roanoke Island to meet with Floyd Wayne. However, they encounter a group of people kidnapped before the terrible outbreak, as well as a soldier who's squad was wiped out by triffids. Can this hodgepodge of people survive and even get along as they finally reach Roanoke Island? What will they even find there? The roleplaying journal for the 8th game of Deadworld can be found here: http://www.penandpapergames.com/forums/entry.php/1978-Basic-Roleplaying-System-Deadworld-Session-Eight-Arrival-at-Roanoke Players were: Camilla Ekker-Runde as Dr. Jumin Han aka Dr. Daddy (surgeon) Ambralyn Tucker as Lisa Weiss (writer) Ben Abbott as Alexa Suarez (spy) Ashton LeBlanc as Manuela “Manny” Rodriquez (mechanic) Collin Townsend as Jonathan Franks (bank teller/criminal) James Brown as Dr. Mikīl Wolfgang (surgeon) Kyle Matheson as Abraham Ford (soldier) Hannah Gambino as Dani Bateman (student) Katelyn Hogan as Elizabeth Tolini (assassin)
  22. When a psychologist from Dexter Asylum asks for help with some strange automatic writing by one of his patients, several investigators decide they will brave a Nightmare in the Moonlight. On November 13, I ran the original Call of Cthulhu scenario "Nightmare in the Moonlight" based on J. Chapman Miske's "The Thing in the Moonlight." 24. I posted this as Yog-Sothoth.com but have had no luck there so I'm posting it here as well. I'm putting together a scenario based on J. Chapman Miske's "The Thing in the Moonlight" but I've hit a bit of a bump. The basic premise is the writer of the piece is a psychologist from Dexter Asylum in Providence and approaches one of the investigators with the strange writing of one of his patients - Morgan. He is afraid to investigate the house and asks investigators. Through the course of the investigation, it is learned Howard Phillips has been pulled into a dream via a strange drug but an older investigator is willing to help the investigators follow the man into the Dreamlands. When they arrive (physically - unfortunately for them) in this dream realm created by Phillips (not the actual dreamlands), they are pursued by the things in the moonlight (animalistic avatars of Nyarlathotep). They need to get the trolley in the dream moving and use it to escape (as every dream has a way out, right?). I'm leaving that up to the players to figure out but, once they're in motion, I want some strange pursuit by the things. I've already figured they would see the things by the tracks time after time, meaning there are more than two, they move impossibly fast, or ... something else. But I want it to feel like they are in danger. The entire dream is something of a concoction of Nyarlathotep, who cares more about driving men mad than killing them. In this case, the premise is that his worshipper (a Mr. Li in Providence Chinatown) gives people a draught that induces a state whereupon they dream. It also invites this particular avatar of Nyarlathotep into the dream. The avatar (or avatars - there are two things in the moonlight) take days or weeks or months to drive the victim mad before feasting on his soul. During that time, the victim disappears from the real world, leaving only a warm spot for as long as he lives. Probably far too much information. I'm looking for what the two creatures might do in the dream to slow or attempt to stop the trolley. It should be impossible to harm the things (or if so, they keep coming back anyway) but possible to outsmart them. I need some examples of behavior that would induce Sanity Checks and potential madness on those in the trolley. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What is pursuing the trolley or how can I give a chase scene, in this case, a bit more?
