Squaredeal Sten
If an adventurer or adventurers discorporate and enter the spirit world (let's assume this is under the guidance of a shaman) Then can they use magical matrices? I am inclined to say no. If they want to use such magic items that are on their bodies then they need to use them before they discorporate. Once they are in the spirit world and away from their bodies they can't use the matrix. I can see this issue coming up soon, so want to check this opinion. 1
David Scott
In real world shamanism, the shaman can take power objects with them. They often look different in the spirit world. As magical matrices are enchantments made with POW they'd be visible and usable in the spirit world. They'd likely have some form related to their magics (or just a variation on their real world shape - a fireblade could be a slightly fiery sword, Darkwall - a black beetle, etc. 2 Quote ----- Search the Glorantha Resource Site: https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com. Squaredeal Sten
So let's say, theoretically, that while the Adventurer is discorporate someone steals his matrix from his left- behind body.. Now we have two matrices: The one in the shaman's spirit hands and the one carried away by the thief. How do you resolve that when the shaman returns to his body? How do you resolve that before the shaman returns to his body? For example what if the thief uses the matrix? Edited September 29, 2022 by Squaredeal Sten S. Second what if.

That's why their fetch remains behind when the shaman is in the spirit world. Alway make sure that the shaman's assistants stay aware while the shaman is in the spirit world... The other possibility is that the magical part of the matrix is in the spirit world, and the thief has a worthless trinket. But that leads to the question of what happens when the shaman returns to his body with the spiritual matrix component... where does the magic go? Does it teleport to the stolen matrix and reactivate it? Does it hang around in the spirit world, unusable, until in the middle world until the physical component is restored to it? Does the magic disappear and need to be re-cast into it? David's answer is probably the simplest from this point of view, but not the only one available. And since @Scotty has not given an authoritative opinion, @David Scott's is merely a fan conjecture.
