Do difficult modifiers stack up?

Hi

Your character has 60% with a a ranged weapon. Lets say its normal range is 50m. You're shooting at a target 75m away so the shot is 'difficult' and you chance to hit is reduced to 30%. OK so far?

Now if the target is prone that's also a difficult shot. So at prone targets up to 50m your chance to hit is 30%. But what about a prone target at 75m? Is that a 15% chance to hit?

I'd say yes.

If normal sized target is at Medium range (ie double standard range, so at least 100m away, not 75m) the shot is difficult and at 1/2 normal skill.

If the target was then making it harder to be hit, then, the chance to hit will then be difficult and at 1/2 skill again.

Thats the way i would most likely handle it.If to many Difficult penalties arose, i might just say its Impossible, and give them a 01% chance.

I ended up using these rules because they made adjusting difficulty both simpler/easier to do and allowed for more modifiers to be applied. It also gives a definite cutoff point where the roll becomes "Impossible" and gets a flat 1% roll if that.
