  1. So yes how do they confirm. Divination resolves this for sure no? I mean if Humakt doesn't know if his children are dead or not, especially a rune lord there is an issue there... just sayin.
  2. Was trying to figure how to integrate Oakfed in the new Money Ruins if it is in fact reborn via a serpent somehow springing up within it. (bad pun) maybe the crater Oakfed made is like Holyrood Park in Edinburgh? Oakfed's spirit is still there and smoldering... I'll go down the Oakfed rabbit hole now(is it really named Oak - fed?)
  3. https://glorantha.steff.in/digests/BellDigest/vol03p02.txt https://wellofdaliath.chaosium.com/home/gloranthan-documents/personalities-of-glorantha/personalities-of-glorantha-ruric-runespear/ There do not seem to be many references to these Rune Lords so you cloud likely have them still associated with Alebard's Tower unless they were dead... What would your PC's do if the Rune Lord in question is deceased?
  4. Any update of the POD release, maybe for the Holidays?
  5. This is interesting stuff. I had been adding items to this thread as I found them. I'll have to go back but it seemed that I saw that Bagtrap was in Tarkala's Band in Pavis but as you I thought they were eaten... My Backford Campaign will have the PC's interacting with the members of the Temple of the Wooden Sword from when they meet them from 1600 onward. They'll know Londra and Naimless from when they are younger, Londra will likely be a little brat when they first meet her but as 5 of the 8 main PC's are set to be female characters it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I found this out and posted about 2 months ago and will use it that maybe she was at the Inn before it was destroyed and fled Runegate when the Bat came but returned years later to rebuild or something like that. I'd leave Ashborn out of it as he is already involved with Clearwine and Apple Lane stuff. Curious, I read that Clearwine burned in like 1606 but hadn't seen that before, does anyone have a source, can't recall where I saw it today or yesterday, forgot to take note of it... I also might have misunderstood but had noted that the Wooden Sword was given to Taksag the troll after the Temple had dissolved by the old man? It may have been months or a few years later? Taksag was noted as the Outlaw, faithful troll initiate. He was the troll Naimless initialled dualled with in 1611 at the Haunted Ruins who joined Naimless thereafter. Still not sure if Taksag was one of Naimless' 2 troll lovers or not... I need to do a lot of weaving to make permit the PC's to be part of the Temple of the Wooden Sword's adventures... The use of the sword to grow a new tree is very intriguing Mr. Jarosch!
  6. The towers don't bother me especially when there is Sog City, Dragon Ships and Handra exist... but who's face is on the mountain with the tongue that looks like a golden carpet to the right of the white tower and is that the palace?
  7. We are not, it's a mirage and or illusion with spirits and a good amount of physical aspect. No time travel... somehow thinking of the Ghosts of Starfire Ridge, somehow, but not in that exact sense. Do the PC's walk the Hero Plane or whatever while they are in the Ghost Ruins, maybe, I don't know but its not, for me time travel. The idea of Monkey Ruins being like the Garden of Babylon in all its splendor... or not? I have not seen that... Thank you all for the input.
  8. Who has had this sort of wound inflicted upon them and what are the details. Is it like seal would but keeps bleeding or something? Maybe similar to a relentless pain spirit? Assuming blood of Arroin could heal it?
  9. Does anyone have an Idea of who the Wooden Sword is destined to kill in the Hero Wars?
  10. I'm not denying that. See 1983 map below. These rainbow bridges and fish roads no matter how canon they are, for me are hoaxy, simply put. I don't see rainbow bridges on the map and so we didn't have them. These no hate or anything, we didn't have them and so still don't. There is aways potential for Fish Roads for us but not sure? I'll need to search this up a bit... not in the know here. Read about Stich and Zoo, Clanking Ruins... This is great and is mostly true for my Glorantha, just the rainbow bridges don't work as physical items. I'll think on them a bit more... No denying what they are supposed to be... but if he were all that powerful why didn't he send a huge army north to crush the lunars with Tarsh and Sartar combined? Why didn't he kill the Lunar envoys who went too Greymane and get Ethirist to join their side. It's like he shouldn't have waited until the time of the game White Bear Red Moon. The game should have started for him like 200 years earlier... just says he's not that smart. And so it is a Ghost Ruin (half way hehehe) Ha, a future Ghost Ruin... of sorts. Thank you all.
  11. So what would special ability would a weapon gain endued with Mistress Race Troll tears... forged in Hell on the Humakt Hero Quest?
  12. Funny comment and I may take a look, never heard of Ms. Russ!
  13. There was of course the more manageable RQA 01 Broozilla, forgot about him... p.15. Only size 30 however. Could just double or triple some stats? go - ji - ra I just recalled Broozilla from RQA 01. But it was SIZ 30. I suppose Godzilla would be as tall or taller than Otra. What is 300-350' tall in Glorantha - Rune Quest SIZ?
  14. Of course I do but it's in the closet up high on a shelf, never played unfortunately but I had to buy it when it came out. I didn't look there was somehow thinking they were White Bear Red Moon counters... silly me for not thinking of that (a little sarcasm with much respect of course). I am missing the old Wasp Nest's scenario (still trying to get someone to link a source) and a hard cover Land of Plenty otherwise am about 95% on material... still didn't pick up Edge of Empire and 2nd hard back of Ian's new stuff... Holidays coming up!
  15. Will add for sure. Maybe it's Argrath! This will take some effort to make it worthy for game entry, might be the toughest encounter to detail, maybe the PC's knew or were protagonists somehow, died at Runegate and PC's are somehow honor gurad? This has all sorts of potential... A fossilized piece of Law in a lava flow from ages past, maybe adamantium? Might be any adamantium weapon, the trouble is getting to it with Trolls and Axe Maidens all over the place... I love this one. Several others will be added to the list. Good stuff!
  16. Saw the new movie trailer... does Glorantha have a lightning breathing giant dinosaur, maybe in Pamelta? Kong? Silly yes but what the Hell Crack right?
  17. Not for this thread but couldn't resist... That was always end game for us as it was a very bad place... you should post a write up when you are done. Always like to see what people come up with for that. Sandy Petersen's Campaign log documented by Jeff Okamoto always sticks in my mind which was linked a while back in another thread: http://www.seiyuu.com/okamoto/writing/campaign_log_2_0.pdf
  18. I am thinking to use something like Miskander's tower here but likely more grandiose or is it more natural with a structure on top? What is Xem's Tower in 1600. Besides the tower from the old D&D module Village of Hommlet does anyone have a suggestion. I was thinking its an Axe Hall outpost of sorts but am scratching my head not wanting it to be just ruins atop a hill or some extinct volcanic neck... but that might make sense as it could be where Lodri tried to escape and was recaptured leaving his imprisonment below working as a blacksmith for the OOO... though I don't know this history well. Also anyone care to add thoughts as to random encounters unique to the Shadow Plateau not Trolish or Axe Maiden in composition? Trolls - ok Trollkin - ok Axe Maidens - ok Trade caravans both Argan Argar and Issaries, no Lunars allowed as of yet (for me its 1600 and they'd be eaten by trolls or killed or enslaved by Axe Maidens (YGWV). Brewers gathering for the Axe Hall semi annual Beer Fest. Pilgrims - no idea what this would be besides Axe Maidens - anyone suggest what missile weapons Axe Maidens would normally use before closing from long range? (not axes from long range for me anyway) Flying insects with or without pigmy's and trolls. (do Axe Maidens like giant bee honey) Spirits as it is called the Haunted Lands but what type of spirits an guessing numerous types across time since the Dawn? Would there be random chaos up there or down inside the depths of the Plateau? Would Ernalda worshippers go to the Axe Hall go to petition for protection, vengeance or simply to request additional temple guards, an increase in "manpower" hehehe. Possibly any of the Ernada protectors would be sent to Axe Hall to conduct cult duties, escort services or something I have no idea... Does Axe Hall hold tournaments to pit warriors against Axe Maidens where if the opponent loses they become the Maiden's salve for a year and if they win they take some ability, skill or training from the Maiden? Dragonwets - why would they be up there, of course there is no telling what they are looking for, maybe beer!? Female Tusk Riders, could they be strange Axe Maidens, they are strange anyway so maybe. Centaurs - female Axe Maiden Centaurs with Great Axes? Female Minotaurs, why not and they like axes right? Any comments are appreciated.
  19. Please add any interesting events that occur in the campaign...
  20. I didn't know that. I looked at the game rules thinking it would have explained but after scanning them I don't see the counters... I did note the Storm Walkers seem somewhat powerful?
  21. But having shared wine, had a picnic lunch with a 300' giant needs some description. Checkered table cloth, some fine Imtherian cheese maybe 800-1000 wheels, several 100lbs. of honey-ham from Elkoi? Where is the over for the house sized French baguettes. (Oh, which country in Glorantha would be like France, thinking somewhere out west but maybe Carmania?)
  22. But trolls love onion and mustard sandwiches with whole grain elf-seed bread?
  23. Exactly. I am glad as well, I want to say it's a spiritual past or like the thread title Ghost Past which needs something conducted in its future to permit a rebirth, what have you... its not time travel but seems to be so for the PC's. I like even more that it has something to do with mirages in the desert (Prax)... You are right and you are right. I was imagining that if they are, for instance, in Monkey Ruins and at that particular time they visit it is actively a Ghost Ruin at that time, they step in and it is functionally the past but it's more an illusion that you act in physically than really the past. This eliminates "time travel" if that is an issue and once they step out of the ruins by a certain distance they are out of the illusion, mirage, etc. So getting out is actually as simple as walking across some sort of spiritual boundary. Who knows maybe it is a Hero Quest but I hadn't thought of that in any detail... Is there a Monkey Ruins Hero Quest or one for other places that could be Ghost Ruins? This may be deserving of some dislike but the whole Belintar and City of Wonders with the magic roads has never been part of Glorantha for me. Its way to hoaxy. We never had it back in the early 80's or we didn't know about it and so when it appeared for us it was, now that I recall, in its own right a Ghost Ruin. I am thinking the City of Wonders would be a thriving city but not something of the past or future like something Feldichi (as per the inversion of Clarke's theorem - Joerg wrote this - will make a new thread on Feldichi sometime) stuff... someone else has had to think that the City of Wonders is out of its proper time period in Glorantha? Maybe that thought reinforces that Belintar was a time traveler? YGWV and so the magic roads have not been integrated for me. Who knows maybe the next big champaign will have them included...
  24. There are waters that flow through the Shadow Plateau and so it could be that they are similar to those like the Red Stone Caverns, Rainbow Mounds, Snake Pipe Hollow, etc. or even a section that is the Styx or a tributary would it be non canon if its never been defined? The Dyskund Cavers also come to mind but with more water... I suppose the best part of Glorantha is your imagination or that of the players?
  25. AndreJarosch posted this in another thread May 15, 2021: A long time ago a group of players went from Sartar to Esrolia and i invented a route that included a path through the Shadow Plateau. The characters followed a stream that vanished in the north eastern part in a big crack in the Shadow Plateau, and that stream flowed following tunnels through the Shadow Plateau and finally came out on the fast western end of the Shadow Plateau. The characters were on board of a very small boat, and their ride was inspired by "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". I haven't looked up if this route would be of use for you, but it was very good MGF anyway. Made me wonder if the stream/river whatever may move its location or even disappear at some time(s) to reaper later or in a different location? Is the Shadow Plateau a magic place?
