This 392-page book explores the maritime traditions of the new generations of sailors, especially those of the lands and islands about the Bay: Esrolia, Heortland, and the Rightarm Islands. Throughout the book, the Periplus of Southern Genertela recounts the life of an Issaries merchant, as he sails about Choralinthor Bay, voyages to the island of Melib, travels to distant Noloswal, and other places, encountering opportunities and perils, all beautifully illustrated by Katrin Dirim. He walks the streets and visits the temples of Nochet, sails to Karse, Handra, Kaxtorplose, and many other cities, swims down to the merfolk city of Deeper, and recalls a trip to the City of Wonders as a child. nb Martin advises that the book is a work-in-progress and will be updated with even more gorgeous full colour art. 20. Nottingham, UK; Ann Arbor, MI, US — Aug 31st, 2023 — Asmodee Entertainment are delighted to announce that Aconyte Books, the fiction imprint of global games group Asmodee, has secured a multi-year agreement with tabletop RPG masters Chaosium to create and publish brand new novels in their Call of Cthulhu® game settings Regency Cthulhu and Cthulhu by Gaslight. Call of Cthulhu is the revered roleplaying game of investigation and horror set in the 1920s. Inspired by the arcane fantasy fiction of HP Lovecraft and other writers who have added to the Cthulhu Mythos over many decades, this is the first time official licensed fiction has been set in Call of Cthulhu’s acclaimed Victorian and Regency settings. Regency Cthulhu sets the action in the late 18th Century England, where the masked balls and the society calendar are fronts for sinister cultists to further their own dark conspiracies. In the first Regency Cthulhu novel, Secrets & Sacrifices (April 2024), the indomitable Cassandra Wright goes in search of the cruel nobleman who drove her father to the grave. The secrets she uncovers, however, threaten to drive her to the brink of sanity. Author Cath Lauria is a talented Colorado-based author with a long track record in fantasy, SF, suspense and romance – and an unusual large collection of edged weapons. The first Cthulhu by Gaslight novel will follow in summer 2024, revealing sinister forces threatening the very heart of terror-struck Victorian London. More information on this and future titles will follow in due course. Aconyte’s Publishing Director Marc Gascoigne said, “As long-time fans and players of the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, we’re delighted to be able to collaborate on publishing novels in these fabulously imaginative settings. Let’s face it – Bridgerton with extra tentacles and Sherlock Holmes facing off against shoggoths – what’s not to love? Our mission to bring game worlds to life with new and untold stories makes these two series a perfect fit for the Aconyte range.” Jeff Richard, Chaosium’s Creative Director, said, “We are so excited to be working with Aconyte on these stories. We can’t wait for our fans to get a chance to read new Call of Cthulhu novels!” Aconyte’s novels are published in trade paperback and ebook format, and audiobook editions are currently under discussion. Distribution to the book trade is through Simon & Schuster, and to tabletop gaming stores by Asmodee. 22. Simon Bray's evocative artwork is familiar to RuneQuest, HeroQuest and Glorantha fans, appearing in such works as the Guide to Glorantha and Glorantha Sourcebook, and stretching all the way back through the Moon Design Publications era to that of the Reaching Moon Megacorp's fabled fanzine Tales of the Reaching Moon. And now Simon is back at the helm of a cherished project based on many years of creative endeavour: Furthest - Crown Jewel of Lunar Tarsh. This is an invaluable resource for any RuneQuest campaign that features the mightiest kingdom of Dragon Pass, whether as a homeland for adventurers or a home base for adventure! As one reviewer has said, this book is "a must-buy, must-read, and even more a must-play! Thoroughly researched, splendidly illustrated, always designed for playability (look at the sewer map for instance! And the indices, both general and thematic), this is in my mind the very embodiment of the fan-driven Glorantha I like." Furthest - Crown Jewel of Lunar Tarsh Simon Bray, Nick Brooke, Mark Galeotti, Michael O’Brien, Chris Gidlow ($19.95, 158 page PDF) The City of Furthest is celebrated as the glory of the Lunar Provinces. One native poet described the city as “a reflection of Glamour in bricks and mortar, not moonlight and dreams.” And here it is brought to riotous life for use in any RuneQuest campaign set in the fateful Eighth Wane of History! Includes a full gazetteer of the city of Furthest, capital city of Tarsh. There is a comprehensive guide to Tarsh, including minor cults, a bestiary, histories and maps. Many plot hooks, major NPCs and a full scenario are included. And maps - so many maps - a huge detailed map of the city, a map of the lands of Tarsh and even the sewers! Also includes a Jaxarte story by Michael O'Brien, a song by Nick Brooke, and art by an amazing team of artists – Mike O'Connor, Patricia Baker, Juha Harju, Dario Corallo, Markku Silvennoinen and Philip McDonnell. What's more, over on Redbubble you can get splendid maps of the City of Furthest and of the Kingdom of Tarsh!
