  1. This slipcase is made to contain just the first 3 books: Core Rules, Bestiary & GM Pack.
GM book will be out "later". Depending on this slip case success, perhaps there will be others along the line...

I love that you can only attune one crystal at a time and that it takes a week to do so. I hope this means we won't be seeing RQ adventurers loaded up with 50 different magic items they can use. Although I know there are other magic items that don't require attunement, the fact they don't work once the owner dies is a good thing IMHO.

Nothing new in fact: crystal chapter is straight from RQ2 (Classic), with just Xenohealing removed. No need to change what's fine anyway :-)

Just naming a non-searchable source like the Middle Sea Empire pdf isn't worth much

A reminder of my last year post:

For info, if you own a Adobe pdf creation module (from a commercial Adobe product) installed as a printer, there is a work around for the not searchable The Middle Sea Empire version: just open it and print it as a Adobe pdf.
=> Text is now searchable in created pdf.
Note: the non searchable The Middle Sea Empire version I used was the one bought on Glorantha.com

Note: it may also work with 3rd parties pdf printer drivers...

Knight Fort (a sloppy translation of what is probably is just Horseman's Fort) is in the Marcher County. It is an old fort, built (or even rebuilt) during the 1300s to stop Praxian raids into God Forgot and Heortland. In its heyday, it may have mustered as many as 200 armored horse (recruited primarily from Heortland), and had a garrison of as many as 1000 archers and spear - more than enough to stop all but the most determined Praxian invasions.Since 1616, Knight Fort has had little outside support and its garrison has trickled down to a few score mercenaries, who rule over the surrounding farmers (who are mostly Barntar farmers). Its ruler is a petty Bandori strongman, allied with the city of Refuge. The Fortress Lord (or whatever he calls himself) likely acknowledged Lunar overlordship from 1620 to 1622, and conveniently ignored that after 1623 or so. Not sure anyone actually noticed on way or another.

Unfortunately, there's also a new error: on p. 5, in the What Is RuneQuest? section, the second sentence of the first paragraph is boldfaced for no reason that I can see. Time for a second tribal-edit thread?

Strange: no bold on my PC with Acrobat Reader.

Most of indicated typo have been fixed.

    Minor typo still present:

  6. Without surprise, last night, Jason confirmed that GM Pack and GM book were two different books:

[21:23] <+mib_j0446f> What are the “core books” for RQG that are enough to really enough support to start a campaign and play well–without having to buy the entire upcoming game line?

[21:24] <+JasonDurall> Rulebook, bestiary, GM pack, and the GM Sourcebook.

[21:25] <+JasonDurall> If you really want to go deep, the Gods of Glorantha book is the essential reference to the gods, but many are covered in the core rules.

[21:25] <+JasonDurall> GM Screen + Pack… lovely four-panel GM screen, a three-adventure sourcebook with Apple Lane described (a starting hamlet/location), reference sheets, maps, etc.

[21:28] <+JasonDurall> The GM Sourcebook is a new book that covers campaign creation, encounters, treasure, metals, etc.

And, not to be ignored :-) :

We have many, many books in development. More than we can possibly do in the next four or five years.

Where is the official "2 separate products" quote from?

From a lot of Chaosium people communications.
At least in the link I gave above.

And GM pack content was given by Jeff just some messages above. No GM book in it.

Latest (tentative) schedule given (that I know of) by Jason on RPGNet was:

    Quote

    RQG core rules
    GM Pack/Screen
    Glorantha Bestiary
    Gods of Glorantha
    Scenario Pack 1
    Quickstart 2
    GM book
    Dragon Pass book

So it seems GM book is more for next year...

It sounds like actually the GM Book, along with a screen and maybe a few other component, will be part of the GM Pack?

Hum, how can you start from "2 separate products" and conclude one will be in the other :-) ? Just curious...

Cant find anything on the GM book...yet

Well, on on April 05, 2017, Jeff wrote in
    https://www.chaosium.com/blog/designing-the-new-runequest-part-13/
RuneQuest Gamemaster Book: This includes lots of GM-oriented rules (battle, magic items, etc.), materials on running games for RQ set in Glorantha, plus fully statted-up and
described encounters that will enable sandbox play in Dragon Pass.

Not sure if it is still valid but is is a start :-) !

  10. Yes, Morokanth are "technically" vegetarians, i.e. they don't eat their herd-men other than for religious purposes but as outlanders believe they are "man-eaters", for game purpose, it does not change anything...

  11. Why would a shaman ever want to do that (protection 30 or bladesharp 30)? A  shaman is not a warrior...

  12. Andrew Logan Montgomery just released "Rites of Passage", for RQG:

Orlanthi initiation rites!!! (That got your attention). Here is the first episode of my "Six Seasons in Sartar" campaign. Originally written for RQ2 25 years ago, I rewrote it for HeroQuest and now for RQG. There are also guidelines on how to convert it to either HeroQuest or 13th Age. It's a massive, deep dive into Heortling rites of passage, based on a lot of Greg Stafford's ideas and some of my own.

Old White Dwarf magazines (in the UK) used to do RQ scenarios, they occasionally come up cheap on eBay

I believe prinz.slasar was specificaly looking for web available RQG scenarios, not very old and out of print scenarios 😁 ...

For talented people, Chaosium published great RQG guildelines for topics:

as well as advices & guidelines on how to present them:
