  1. Reading the Starter Set I noticed that Garangian Bronze-Guts is High Priest of Lhankor Mhy and Chief Librarian (p. 38).

Mata Min is ”Chief Priestess of the Jonstown Library” (p. 39).

I guess the authority of the High Priest goes beyond the library, making Mata Min his subordinate in the cult. But who of the two is boss of the library? And what is a ”Chief Priestess”?

  2. All new players in my campaign start as Ernaldori humans. After a year and a half ingame (two and a half years RL) I'm about to allow a dwarf PC (iron). I quickly made up a "Family" Histoy table based on a thread somewhere here, and the player has read the Mostali info in the Bestiary and the Sourcebook, and we've discussed the heresies and how the dwarf could become an "adventurer", or at least become part of the PC group. The introduction to the group will be well motivated (the Ernaldorian group is currently at Dwarf Mine).

I hope (and think) it will be fun, and not cause any (unfun) problems.

So are magic points total including spirits, storage crystals, allied spirts, elf bow magic points or just basic character magic points remaining from the character's power?

According to Remembering Caroman it’s basic character mp.

  4. According to the gloranthan bestiary the wraith attacks by ”a special form of spirit combat” where is has to overcome the target’s magic points.

Is this preceeded by the normal opposed roll of the Spirit Combat skill, or does it replace that opposed roll?

(Also, it says the characteristic loss discussed in the first post is ”half the current magic points of the wraith.”)

King Ranulf of the Culbrea, Queen Ivartha of the Cinsina, and Queen Amalda of the Malani also fell in battle.

@Jeff, will the "big campaign book" kill off Ivartha at the Battle of the Queens (bar heroic intervention from the adventurers)? This quote is the only place she is mentioned among the fallen.

what I know about these items if that the First was a gift from her Grandfather - Orlanth. The second was a Gift from her Father - Vingkot, The Third gift was given to her by her Husband - Ulanin the Rider (Which is a saddle), and the fourth was given to her by the Dryad Tardisis.

The Saddle is the only one I know what it looks like so far. I haven't decided for anything else yet and still need to write up the lore and abilities of each one.

Did you ever develop this further? I'd love to see what you did. Where were these items to be found by your adventurers? I'm considering hiding one of them in Bonn Kanach (from the JC). Maybe one in the Smoking Ruins. Maybe one in The Rubble (to get them there).

  7. In the first blog version of Andrew Montgomery's The Riddle (later rewritten and incorporated in Six Seasons in Sartar), the "other brother" tossed in the Sex Pit is experienced by the adventurers as one of them, but nobody seems to remember who. So it's not actually one of the clan children, but rather someone imaginary you need to try to save during your initiation.

my intrepid band of players; Colymar loyalists + Kerofineli Tarshite Skald, are about to take part in this clash of titanic forces

    How did it work out?

Has anyone else had their adventurers participate in the Battle of Heroes?

  9. I found the attached map somewhere on this forum, maybe posted by Jeff.

I know the tribal borders of the Cinsina, Colymar, Culbrea, Lismelder, Locaem, and Malani tribes. Could someone please help me with the Curtali, Sylangi, Bacofi (?), Balmyr, Sambari, Balkoth, Kheldon, and Aranwyth tribe borders?

Will all this ("current" clans and tribes) be detailed in the planned Sartar book, do you think?

  10. The Glorantha Sourcebook has this to say:

<quote>Argrath went to the Thunder Brothers at Old Wind Temple for a blessing, and got it. He went to Sun Dome County and installed his friend Rurik Runespear as Count. He went to Clearwine for a blessing from the Colymar, and got it. At Two-Ridge Fort he installed his friend Vailor Blue Fox as king of the Malani. Argrath put the Tricksters under his protection and told them to come out of hiding. Argrath then went to Boldhome, accompanied by his companions. </quote>

Do you think that list of destinations should be read as chronological?

Do you think he would be noticed when travelling around Sartar? Maybe people loyal to him joins him along the way?

What about his army? I’m guessing he’d bring some kind of force (in addition to his companions). Or would he be able to install counts and kings simply by reputation?

Swedish Runequest: Our development process moves forward. We have decided that the Swedish edition of this game will be called Runequest Talastar (RQT). That title explains what the product it is: a subset of Runequest that takes an in-depth look at the Gloranthan region Talastar. The essential core RQ stuff and a lot of new region-specific material written in the Swedish tradition of making RPGs.

  12. I don’t actively ignore anything, I think, but as all games I’ve run have been in the Dragon Pass area I’ve not bothered to read up on the rest of the world.

Also there’s so much info I go with ”good enough”. Fun is the aim, not Fantasy anthropology.
