Erol of Backford
I knew I saw it somewhere that the Silver Shields had dogs or it sounded like they had dogs or were like dogs? From Gloranthan Adventures 1: “You were so successful, that the Lunar General sent out the Silver Shields, Dogmen of Saird, who are experts in hunting down freedom fighters such as yourselves." What is meant by dogmen?

The Dalini regiment of Holay worships Rowdril and is accompanied by war dogs.

However, the Silver Shields are actually associated with Sylila and the Conquering Daughter, not Saird or Jajagappa's worshippers. I suspect the writers either conflated the two or didn't have additional details to work from.
Erol of Backford
Would the Silver Shields not have been part of the Main Lunar Army rather than The Tarsh or another Provincial Army? Just curious as other than them being stationed mostly in Prax/Pavis 1608-1612 (just the way we like it) they would have been part of Lunar forces in Sartar or the Heortland. If this makes sense it sort of makes them a go-to PC nemesis, always showing up to harass, attack, steal from, flee from, etc. etc.

Silver Shields are part of the Heartland Corps (goes back to WBRM). In this list, yes, part of the main Lunar army. Sylila is a satrapy, hence part of the empire proper whereas Saird is part of Holay/provinces. 6 minutes ago, Erol of Backford said: stationed mostly in Prax/Pavis 1608-1612 Stationed there in Prax from 1610 (after the Battle of Moonbroth) until at least 1621 (post-Cradle). However, they could have been in Sartar 1602-1610. Units noted in Sartar in the 1618-21 period (Sartar Companion) include the following from Heartland Corps (Beryl Phalanx, Arrowstone Cavalry, Doblian Dogeaters) and from Lunar Provincial Corps (Bagnot Foot, Mirinite Swords, First Tarsh Light Foot). If you go back to the Barbarian Adventurers/Orlanth is Dead works you can find a couple others listed (e.g. Lasadag Lions). Armies and Enemies might provide placement for others.
Erol of Backford
I'll run with them being with the Lunar Army when it invaded Sartar and going to Prx/Pavis, works really well with what we are planning. I have not looked at Armies yet but will. Thanks Jaja.
Erol of Backford
From Masters of Luck and Death: Curious if they ride to battle and dismount, seems silly to hike all the way from Sylila. I suppose it doesn't matter and YGMV.
