rpgstarwizard Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I am seeking someone who has seen the old Chaosium editions and the new one by Steve JAckson Games. Curious to hear comparisions and contrasts. Thanks. Quote
sdavies2720 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I don't have them both right in front of me, but if memory serves, there is little difference between them. I know that when I got my SJ copy, after looking through everything I just filed my older one away. You should know that although AT is often held up as a great resource for realistic magic, it's not really a workable system as written. There's a lot of arm waving about what goes into a spell but at the end of the day, the spell is worked out in discussion between the player and the GM. I love the book for it's break down of magic and I've stolen bits from it's Magic Laws, but the system it presents is plain redunkulous. Note, I have the Steve Jackson Games version. I haven't seen the Chaosium one before. Quote 70/420
