Looks great. I have only managed to skim it, but will take a closer look when time permits. You have put alot of effort into this, its a very well produced fan document.

Thanks for posting it

" Sure it's fun, but it is also well known that a D20 roll and an AC is no match against a hefty swing of a D100% and a D20 Hit Location Table!"

This document looks fantastic and addresses many of the issues I had with deep magic as written in Advanced Sorcery. The charts for modifying spells are a particular gem. Magic truly feels improvisatory now.

I had plans of writing my own home brew version of deep magic. No need now. Thanks!

I just uploaded the latest revision of The Second Way freeform magic rules. Differences between the new 2.1 version and the previous 2.0 version are some minor wording changes, the correction of a spell, a new Wizadry fumble table and a new Chaotic Features table. Special thanks to @Nick from whom I ripped off the fumble table. Also special thanks to @Loz for providing some of the inspiration for the Chaotic Features table in the book Elric of Melnibone Companion.
