  1. Good to know that you've got something written up Newt, I'll need to take a look at it, but I have to say, the PCs could run into traps outside of a dungeon and if there's no rules written, how does a GM handle that scenario. So I'm glad that jux asked the question as I never thought about handling traps.

  2. I've read through it, you've got some very interesting ideas and I'm going to use them as inspiration for the same kind of rules in my game. I've been toying with the same ideas for quite a while, but hadn't taken it to the level which you did! Great job!

  3. I just scanned the list on your document. I find them very interesting and will give it a more complete read through when I get time! Very good ideas there, thanks for posting!

  4. I've bought most of the Whitewash City PDFs, each one is a whole building that you can create using cardstock, and include in each one is a floor plan. Eric Hotz created them using real western buildings, those that he could find! Most of the buildings floor plans come out a little small for my tastes, but I still like them!

You might want to check his stuff out too! I'm hoping that 0One's products will be good. I'm also looking at their ships as well for fantasy gaming.

Forgot to put in the link to his stuff! Whitewash City Models

  5. Yes, it's AP=Armour Points.

Should have been HP and I seem to have made a similar mistake in the New Mexico book too... but only for about half of the weapons!

    Sorry for the confusion :-/

I reckon if I do a third book I might get it right :)

Thanks for the clarification and no worries! I do similar things when I write!

  6. We were making characters for my new campaign and we noticed in the weapons table there is a column labeled Ap. Could not find anything about it in the supplement book, searched online, searched here and of course it's not in the BGB. What the heck does it mean?

If someone has already asked this, just send me in the direction of that thread and I'll read it there, but my search foo on here isn't as good as on Google.:)

  7. New anti-spam measures taken. Tell me if it gives you any trouble.

Good job Trifletraxor. I ended up changing my forum registration to admin approved only because I got tired of all the spammers that kept getting through, even to the point where they were posting JavaScript code in the forum posts, which highjacked my forum!

Thanks for getting the forums back up!

  8. Most campaigns use some sort of power battery, either power used from a staff or familiar that the wizard can use to cast spells. For my campaigns, which tend to be high fantasy, I have power stones, which store a fixed amount of magic points that the wizard can use. They recover power over time, without rest, but the biggest one in a fixed area will be the only one regaining power as it will overpower smaller ones.

I have also allowed players to convert fatigue points into power points on a 1 for 1 basis, but now they're actually stressing themselves to cast spells. You could also allow players to convert hit points to power points, but that means they're injuring themselves to power their spells.

  9. Now that you mention it, I took the v.9 BRP character sheet and added fillable fields to it via Acrobat. But since I don't own the copyright to the sheet, I've sent an e-mail to the guys at Chaosium to ask them if it would be okay to upload it here.

  10. My players liked the experience. We've played BRP before, but never had a VT session. One of them mentioned Roll20 to allow us to be able to play, which is how I learned about it. A new player had never tried BRP before, but liked the idea of the system being much more flexible than d20 systems.

The guy who introduced me to Roll20 liked the ability to remove the grid and gridless play, which allows easier movement than having to stay on a square or hex grid. I've been trying to move in that direction with our table top play but so far haven't had the time to go completely gridless.

In the future, once I get my game room back, I'm going to invest in a projector and use Roll20 or another system to project maps onto the game table!

  11. You're welcome.

I do wish that there would be some kind of a standard VT that someone would come up with, but everyone has their own ideas about how they want to do things.

We had our first session last night, not much playing, mostly just getting everyone connected and me answering questions about the campaign. Went well as far as most were concerned, couple of technical difficulties, partly from the Roll20 system and partly from our own computers. But now that we've ironed most of them out, we should be good to go!

  12. The point is that their marketplace is extremely obscure, and in some cases questionable, in how it works, and definitely not designed to sell supplements. For one thing, it DOES NOT allow me to give away anything for free. Why?

I understand their point about not making things free. I don't agree with it necessarily, but they state that if you've spent time creating the art, you should get paid for that time.

I'd be good with making somethings free and allowing others to charge.

I do like the interface though but also don't want to fracture the community by having everyone and their brother make their own VTT.
