  1. Hey Ottomancer, Congrats on an excellent monograph and website. You've put together a lot of great material. Cheers, Fergo113
  2. I have been working on a Middle-earth BRP and playtesting it with my RPG group every Tuesday night we have free. Its coming together but still needs work. I'll be posting it chapter by chapter when the various parts are done.
  3. You can thank good old Microsoft 2007 for the quality of the product :thumb: As for Middle Earth, its undergoing a major re-write given the new BRP ruleset. Basically though I chucking out half the stuff as I no longer need to write rules on skills and creating a character etc. I'll be focusing over the new few months on the cultural backgrounds, creatures of Middle-earth and the magic of Middle-earth so I'll be adding this one chapter by chapter. As for CoH, I still want to finish an intro adventure, write a guide to Paragon CIty and complete the City of Villains versions of the character sheets for the game. I haven't playtested it all yet, so if anyone does give it a go, please feel free to give me feedback on what works, what doesn't work, what's missing and what you would like to see added. Thanks for the positive feedback though.
  4. I haven't read the full thread here yet, so I am not sure if this has already been mentioned, but the Ashes to Ashes monograph is also available now at Chaosium as a PDF download :thumb:

This is just a modified version of the new BRP character sheet from the BRP rulebook. Designed for use in a Modern or Future context. Contains hit locations.
  6. Hi, just a short one to let you all know I have posted in the Downloads sections a copy of a play testing version of my BRP take on the City Of Heroes superheroes universe. It’s in two parts as the original file wouldn't load as a single document. Also I have put in the downloads section a half dozen versions of character sheets that can be used for CoH. There are male and female hero versions plus ones with hit locations and ones without. If your not familiar with CoH, its a MMO game world and a great setting for superhero game play. Do a Google search for ParagonWiki to get more info on it. You will need a copy of the new BRP rulebook, but I take it that it will soon be a given that people will soon have this in abundance (only a few days to go now!). I'm still working to convert my Middle-earth project over to BRP and that's proving a monster of a task but well worth while. My RPG group hasn't play tested this yet, so hope it all makes sense. It still requires a good deal of proof reading and checking for consistency. Hope you enjoy. Ah, bring back Superworld...sigh ;-(

The City of Heroes BRP quickplay rules. Based on the superhero MMOG City Of Heroes and City of Villains. You will need a copy of the BRP Rulebook to play it as the quickplay pack is meant to complement the BRP rulebook. The complete file version is 8 Mb.

  14. G'day everyone, I am an Ozzy and I have been playing rpg's since highschool. Initially played Advanced D&D but soon converted to Runequest II when I played a campaign with the gaming club I was in at the time (and no I am not a geek!). Since then I have played a lot of Runequest (mostly the Runequest II rules set, but have RQIII and Mongoose RQ IV), D20 Modern, Middle-earth Role Playing (MERP), Call of Cthulhu, and a bit of Traveller, Aftermath and Decipher's Lord of the Rings. In my opinion, the BRP based games kick butt compared to the others.:thumb: Latelly, for the last two or so years, I have been running a campaign set in Middle-earth using MERP modules run to a hybrid Runequest rule system. I am currently updating those rules to the new BRP rulebook (Zero edition) and will post it in the download section when its at a state to allow for broader playtesting. Cheers, Fergo113
  15. Thanks Lawrence for this. My stuff's more of a complete BRP rules set that you can use the MERP modules with but I have been using the Decipher LoTR's rulebook as well. Hope to post some of the chapters soon so that it makes more sense what I am up to. But thanks for the link, it will come in handy. Cheers.
  16. I take the hint, PK . I'll see what I can post in the downloads section over the next week or two, but there is still a lot of work to be done. I'll post an update on this forum when I post.
  17. G'day everyone, I have only just come across this web site and joined up. I have been working on a MERP (Middle-earth Role Playing) to BRP conversion for about a year now and have been playtesting with my role-playing buddies on a near weekly basis to see how its panning out. The arrival of the pre-release BRP rules has put a delay into the rules development however and I have been going through the pre-release BRP rules and re-working my MERP conversion. My hope is to finish this by the end of 2008 but I will try to post the draft rules when I have been able to re-align what I have developed so far with the new BRP ruleset. My intent is to have a BRP ruleset for playing in Middle-earth and allow for the use of the MERP modules. FYI for now but will try to start posting draft rules soon for comments and playtesting. I've been lazy in working on this project but I guess I had better get of my backside and finish it. Cheers
