I gather that the Glowspot created by the Crimson Bat allows Lunar Magicians to cast magic as though the Red Moon were in it’s Full Phase, while the Glowline only allows them to cast magic as though it were in it’s Half Phase? I’m supposing here that the comment in the RuneQuest Bestiary “The Bat exerts a force which acts in all ways as the Lunar Glowline for Lunar magicians. All Lunar magicians within the Glowspot of the Bat act as if the Red Moon is Full” is a reflection of it’s description from RQ2/3.

Another book you might want to check out is Pavis County & Beyond: Secrets of the Borderlands by @Ian A. Thomson and friends, which includes notes on running a hybrid Borderlands/Pavis campaign.
Thanks, I’ve already got that one.

Once the QuestWorld main book is published the only Gloranthan QW book i would like to see is a "How to convert RQG into QW".
If that book is called a "QW Glorantha genre pack", than this is what i would like to see.
No further Gloranthan publications for QW needed besides that, at least that is how i feel. While equaling RQ publications is a clear impossibility, I think Glorantha is sufficiently deep and complicated to require at least a couple of supplements to properly cover. Though how to separate the supplements I don’t know.

I would not expect one of those any time soon.
That I must say is a big let down for me. I would really like to see this product.

I intend to start a campaign using the old Borderlands supplement but modifying and exapanding on it. Would any of the scenarios in Jonathon Webbs Sandheart series be adaptable to this?
p.s. I’ll be using the Questworlds system, if that makes a difference.- 3

The Red Moon section (pages 19-24) does have an interesting thing: The phase of the moon is different depending on where you stand: In Dragon pass, Wildday is the full moon day. But in First Blessed Windsday is the Full Moon day. That will trip players up if they rely on the generic calendar.
This has always been the case.

Sorry to report that my HeroQuest game at Glorantha Con had only one person show up, and so wasn’t run. Only one person actually bothered to officially cancel out of the four who didn’t show. So no representation of QW/HQ at Chaosium Con this year.🙁

I just thought that I would arouse everyone’s jealousy by saying that I am at Chaosium Con and have purchased a copy.

Being an extremely stingy person I ask the following question; will it be on sale at this price at Chaosium Con? I notice the last day of the sale is the same as the first day the Vendor’s hall is open and thought I might save on postage if that is the case.

The main issue to overcome with Runequest 2 are the character generation rules which kinda leave you hanging in terms of giving early background experience. The skill levels are very low and, while there is an appendix to provide some loose rules eventually, the implication is that you either take out a Traveller-esque mortgage to get some type of training from a Guild or Cult, or you simply start as a callow and mostly ineffective 16-year old.
The previous experience rules for barbarians and mercenaries were simpler and didn’t involve going into debt, which makes me wonder why the rules for apprentices were so different.

Thank you all for your input and advice, I will probably pick up a pod of the rules and some of the supplements (prax and cults of terror) from Chaosium.
Note that the hardcover of RQ2 is actually cheaper than the softcover, due to it being in stock rather than pod.

Will it be out by Chaosium Con?

So, I think it's better to not have a specific rule for hide and seek, and use a more generic skill opposition rule.
Agreed.

There's also a rule for "Hide and Seek", which IIRC is : roll under (Stealth) skill, if successful subtract your skill from the (Perception) skill.
Another approach would be to subtract the number rolled (if successful) from the perception check. Or, to preserve the lower is better trend, the difference between the successful roll and the skill level. .

I regret to have to inform you that the reprint has already occurred a few years ago, and the game is again out of print. Here’s a link to a first edition copy (paperback with black-and-white art) for sale on eBay.

I’ll soon be starting a game of Questworlds for Doctor Who, and I don’t think that powering up is appropriate for that setting. Would awarding extra Story Points be a viable alternative?

While just having a magic skill would certainly work, I’m trying to have a Gloranthan feel (runes and religious communities) without going too deep into special cases. To me, runes and grimoires as keywords supports this.
I agree with this part, but I believe that the minimum levels,, if used at all, should be set low enough so that a beginning character can meet them even for professional magician types. Questworlds is the kind of game where you should be able to create an Istari Wizard and a potato farmer at the outset without any trouble.
Another approach might be to allow more breakout abilities for the full time magician types.

Are minimum scores even necessary?

If anyone is interested, there is a copy of the 1st edition of the Prince Valiant rpg on ebay with a starting bid of $40.00.

If you can find a copy, Anaxial’s Roster has stats for various Gloranthan creatures. Here’s a link to some on eBay:
