Long before the corona scare my campaigns suffered from the dreaded lack of interested players virus, certainly a joy killer if not biologically dangerous.  However, since the latest ban in the U.S. limits meetings to 10 people (and most gaming groups are 3-5) you can still play on Friday afternoon (because your workplace is closed anyway) and attend synagogue on Saturday (10 Orthodox believers).  Whether you can eat pizza during the game depends on how observant you are (drive-through orders only).  It works out.

The disease is a genuine concern but the fear and restrictions it has generated are an equal and perhaps greater concern.  We're fighting over toilet paper while government on all levels commands us to hide in our homes?  And we meekly obey without question?  Every Walmart is a mob scene but we can't meet to worship or vote?  What's wrong with this picture?  I don't want one more person to get sick or die but we've essentially consented to tearing up the Bill of Rights while chasing the illusion of safety.

I'm assuming people here might call this a "conspiracy theory", but I completely agree, thank you!

  2. I never seem to finish all my food
I always get a doggie bag from the waiter
So I just keep what's still unchewed
And I take it home, save it for later
But then I deal with fungal rot, bacterial formation
    Microbes, enzymes, mould and oxidation
I don't care, I've got a secret trick up my sleeve
I never bother with baggies, glass jars, tupperware containers
Plastic cling wrap, really a no-brainer
I just like to keep all my flavours sealed in tight
    With aluminum foil (foil)
    Never settle for less
That kind of wrap is just the best
To keep your sandwich nice and fresh
Stick it in your cooler (cooler)
    Eat it when you're ready
But maybe you'll choose (you'll choose, you'll choose, you'll choose)
    A refreshing herbal tea
    Mm, lovely!
Oh, by the way, I've cracked the code
I've figured out these shadow organizations
    And the Illuminati know
That they're finally primed for world domination
And soon you've got black helicopters comin' cross the border
Puppet masters for the New World Order
Be aware: there's always someone that's watching you
And still the government won't admit they faked the whole moon landing
    Thought control rays, psychotronic scanning
Don't mind that, I'm protected cause I made this hat
    From aluminum foil (foil)
Wear a hat that's foil lined
    In case an alien's inclined
To probe your butt or read your mind
    Looks a bit peculiar ('culiar)
    Seems a little crazy
But someday I'll prove (I'll prove, I'll prove, I'll prove)
    There's a big conspiracy...

Nice and fair comparison btw :)

Thank you! In 2 days it has become one of 3rd most watched videos, I'm glad you enjoyed it and felt it was fair!

I went to say that via reaction, but I was informed I cannot react to anything more today... What a world:)

uhhhh... you *DO* know there are wingnuts promoting the stupid idea that this is a genetically-engineered virus???

FWIW -- in case anyone doesn't know / hasn't heard -- that sort of gengineering can be spotted (and has pretty definitively been ruled out) by independent researchers all over the world.

Once again, I meant no offense and was joking. Sorry if I was being insensitive.

Also, what happened to "China made it as a weapon and accidentally released it"? I thought that was the official story, which would mean it was engineered, unless I'm wrong.

  5. I've been seeing a ton of negative effects of this virus other than just symptoms, including Chaosium postponing their convention in the land down under, so it got me thinking...

Has this crisis been harming your gaming or making it difficult to play? Have you had to switch to playing over Discord or Skype or Roll20 to overcome it?

Life is good when one can play two great campaigns, Masks of Nyarlathotep and The Two-Headed Serpent. Beautiful books and great campaigns no less. Thank you Chaosium for putting out these great campaigns. Played part of of the Bolivia chapter today and my players had a blast (and they went about things very unexpectedly ). This Friday I continue with the start of the Peru chapter for Masks of Nyarlathotep, my players for that group cant wait too play nor can I. Its weird, I DM D&D on sundays and just do not feel the same level of excitment that I feel for These Call of Cthuhlu campaigns. odd.

    Have fun!

I did wonder about that, I thought you were in your late teens, so might have only just been able to legally watch some of the films based on his works.

By the way, I didn't mean to offend, I just thought it was surprising that someone with such an interest in horror hadn't read or seen anything by Stephen King.

It's a little complicated, I am in my late teens, but up until I discovered Lovecraft, I actually steered clear of horror, I'm a new convert:)

There are lots of author, yes, but only a few stand the test of time.

And while Stephen King doesn't write my favourite genre, hence I read of watch little from him, I think I can safely say he is one of those that do stand the test of time! 😮 :)

I quite like the Dark Tower movie too! This one is not horror though... more like a strange approach to a merger between fantastic and contemporary..

My friend told me Dark Tower was the gateway drug. Now I know he's right...

Popular fiction that had a lot of films and TV Series made.

OK, so Dethstrok9 was born a lot later than I was, so would have missed out on the 70s and 80, where you couldn't move without a Stephen King adaptation.

But, even in recent times you have had Under the Dome and a remake of IT.

Also, with streaming, a lot of the older films are available in different genres.

    I was just surprised.

I'm younger to the point where I'm actually not allowed to read Stephen King, I will eventually.
