Adaras
Hi there Everyone 🙂 So my player raised a good question today. We had recently just finished a session where the players attended a wedding and the escaped the sacking of the capital after. They were basically just gone for the movement week in fire season. So the question is do they have time to get training if they were gone for just a small week?
Scotty
Yes. See Training in the Q&A: To clarify: An adventurer may train a single skill with an instructor per season OR research a single skill This still allows three weeks adventuring. This still allows your your normal occupation and community roles. The adventurer still receives Experience Between Adventures (page 416). The adventurer is now “Fully Booked” and can do no more, or Sacred Time roles will be penalised in Additional Penalties to the Occupation Income Roll (page 422). 1

Let's assume the adventurer goes full penalty for that year's income, so affluent with plunder that she can both afford as many trainers as possible and keep her family afloat for that year. How much can she cram in every season? Quote Telling how it is excessive verbis

And do not forget POW gains as well... This could easily offer ten ticks per season. occupation rolls here will be training or research rolls.  Edited August 21, 2021 by Bill the barbarian Quote ... remember, with a TARDIS, one is never late for breakfast! Ludo Bagman
7 hours ago, Joerg said: How much can she cram in every season? There was a thread some times ago: I like to compare this to the RQ3 rule: A character needs 1 hour training/research time per skill point, and a week has 50 usable hours. So a character may train or research a 50% skill in a week which gives around 8 skill increase rolls per season. This is somewhat comparable to the RQG numbers - five weeks doing normal work give 4 skill checks plus one training/research roll - that's also around one skill increase roll per week.
